Man, I can't believe it has taken this long. On Monday I thought it would be "Not Guilty" (a classic case of justice delayed being justice denied) but after all this time I'm not so sure.
I can't see any way he gets convicted, despite his probable guilt.
The case wasn't proven. There was no physical evidence, just the thirty year old memories of a gaggle of shakey witnesses.
The donut-munching, starstruck, Greenwich police force had no interest in upsetting the Kennedys. If they did, Skakel would be facing a parole hearing about now, rather than a trial.
Justice will be elayed some more. He's a Kennedy millionaire. He'll appeal, and appeal, and appeal until he finds a "friendly" judge or a stupid jury, or a judicial panel. If he ever does get sentenced he'll appeal the sentence. If he ever does serve time it will be a short stay in a country club prison where he can work off some of that fat and actually end up living longer. I'd get down on my knees and praise Clinton if Skakel ever does hard time for ten years. Luckily, I'll never have worry about doing that ;')
Justice sucks.
