Yeah there was some outcry, but most Americans are sleepy headed and overly soft with a very short memory. Heck even 911 hasn't woken us out of our stupor. We don't even approach Arabs that could be enemies in our own country for fear of hurting their feelings.

I remember during impeachment that the media was touting the polls which said 75% of the public did not want Clinton removed from office. However, 1 year later, the same 75% were convinced he should have been removed.
Those 75% are still with us and this is the reason all the dems tricks and attempts to smear Bush are not working. The media, of course, has yet to figure it out. It's difficult to judge exactly how wide spread this is, but I think Bush's job approval number of 76% is a good indicator (Clinton's was only 67%). Also, Bush's personal approval number is 85% - Clinton's was 25% when he left office. The media never bothers to bring that number up.
