Three Charged With After-Prom Rape
By Associated Press Three teen-agers have been charged with the rape of a 16-year-old girl after a high school prom.
Rocky Mount police charged two 17-year-olds and a 19-year-old with second-degree rape. The three Southeast Halifax High School students were arrested after a month-long investigation.
Sergeant Gerald Pipkin says the suspects were friends of the victim, who is also a student at Southeast Halifax.
The victim told investigators that she consumed two drinks of alcohol, but didn't remember anything after that. The alleged assaults occurred while the victim was passed out.
