Was researching the "Black Flags of the Mahdi"..and came upon your resource page via the Flags of Sudan.
I wanted to post some Muslim web pages..but they go on and on...its hard to follow the train of thought.
The Mahdi of Chinese Gordons day and Osamma have much in common.
The 1880-1 Madhi desired slaughtering ,and making example of Muslims who were in compliance with the British.
At Khartoum..he slaughtered nearly 5000 Egyptians to make his point [Egypt being seen as a vassal of the British.
Osamma has revealed his disdain for the House of Saud and their control over the Holy Places.
Yet..in looking back..this message was that of the Ayatollah Khomeini in Iran.
Clearly Al Qaeda is an offshoot of this..via the Wahabbi in Saudi Arabia.
In researching the resurgence of the "Black Flags of the Mahdi"..recent events have been revealed...most are covered up to some dgree in the Arab press...but rallies are occuring in Jordan..Egypt..North Arfica etc.
They may be Pro Osamma..Pro Palestinian rallies..but the manifestation of the Black flags and the script appears allong side.
About 2 months ago there was a huge Hizbullah rally in Beruit...nearly 100,000....I saw some pictures..they were "Chilling" to say the least.
I believe the Palestinian issue is going to fall to the wayside soon...the Higher message of purity to Islamic law will zenith with Emotional passion.
Were in a lull right now..but somethings coming.
