FWIW, I noticed that in the S&S U.K. website, the entry for Strange Boy contains no description.

Origin of the phrase "Sex before eight or it's too late"

I take no responsibility for the originating site, but this article was right on. I was searching for the phrase "eight too late"...recalling I'd heard it somewhere. This article not only reminded me of where the phrase orginated (NAMBLA), but demonstrates the modus operandi of many molestors, including reference to Boy Scouts.

I agree that the agenda of the gay movement has always been to indoctrinate children into believing in the "normalcy" of deviant and precocious sex. Just to demonstrate how times have changed, I had never even heard of homosexuality until I got to college...Now, we are having trouble protecting our children's eyes and ears from sex in all its good and bad forms from birth onward. There is no such thing as a true homosexual 10 year old except in the mind of a perverted author...A sexualized 10 year old or a molested 10 year old, but not a homosexual 10 year old. How sad that the outcry is not deafening.

How sweet. A "positive" book about a ten year-old boy who has a crush on a male teen. A book that seeks to normalize adult-child homosexual perversions by pitching them not as pedophilia, but as as wholesome homosexual "love."

I'd call it gerontophilia. Either way, NAMBLA will be thrilled.

Heterosexuality doesn't have to rush around in fits trying to get people to accept it as a norm: it IS the norm. All of history, all of biology, all of reality supports heterosexuality.

Homosexuality will forever be known, even if only intuitively, to be a distortion of reality...no matter what window dressing and applause it is given.

How about shelving some nice books about students who want to blow their teachers away with guns and razor blades?

THAT would be bad, but screwing with a 13 year old's mind isn't?

How messed up is that?

Just as long as they don't put any books about God or religion on the shelves, I think this is just fine.

In California about 1978, they had an ballot initiative called (if I recall correctly) the "Briggs initiative" that would have banned homosexuals from teaching in public schools. One of the arguments made for the initiative was that absent such a ban, children in public schools would be exposed to pro-homosexual propaganda and recruitment. The anti-initiative groups, including of course the "gay rights" groups, poured scorn on the idea that gays as teachers would eventually mean a gay educational agenda in the taxpayer-funded public schools. The intiative was defeated. And its proponents were right.

Uh, I really think you need to extend that to people
in other churches and other vocations, don't you?
If you don't, you're not really being honest!

Paula Poundstone's serial diddling of her foster daughters are "romance" by this daffynition. Of course, thanks to Hollyweird-star "justice" her flagrant child sexual abuse---which would have gone on unabated had the younger children not bravely ignored her threats and ratted her out---was reduced to a charge of something like driving with an open beer can, and the entire matter adjudicated in the hours immediately following the September 11 attacks when not ONE media member in America had a camera, mic or eye trained anywhere other than ground zero or the Pentagon. Pretty slick, huh. Reckon there were some cooperative GLAAD and NAMBLA moles in the L.A. Country Prosecutors Office who conveniently arranged the timing here? (and isn't this the prosecutors office that did such a good job in the O.J. case?) Then Poundstone's lawyer walked out of the courthouse and immediately started ridiculing and scoffing at the plea itself, minimizing and belittling and casting aspersions on the legitimacy of the plea. Within three months Poundstone her(him?)self was doing her entire comedy schtick as a bitterly sarcastic, self-aggrandizing, vainglorious, smirking attempt at giving the finger to those who persecuted her for simply exercising her sexual perogative (after all----these gay rights laws, you better read 'em, because THAT is what they SAY: you can't persecute nor prosecute nor make laws against someone because of their sexual proclivities, i.e., if their THING is like Poundstone---12 yo and 5 yo girls---you have no right, under the gay rights laws, to DISCRIMINATE against her, OTHERWISE YOU, my friend, are a HOMOPHOBE!!!

I would argue that the real controversy of Strange Boy lies in the fact that it's not making a big deal out of having a gay child as its protagonist

I'm sure that's why they call him "strange boy".

I wasn't trying in the least to rationalize homosexuality. I was merely making mention of what I'd observed and experienced. Homosexuality is exactly a dis-ordered desire and consumated in a way that is unnatural to the body ... both for its mechanics and its utter separation of the sex act from procreation.

You are correct. They want to take a young child and make him/her think that emulating an older friend/sibling is equal to falling in love with that person.
True, and when young "gay" people attempt suicide the GLAAD group tries to pin the blame on "homophobia." I imagine that most teenagers would come to feel depressed and suicidal after being told that they are "born that way" just because they feel attracted to someone of the same sex OR were molested OR perhaps just feel awkward around the opposite sex. (Who among us doesn't remember those days??) The gay activists are the ones to blame for each and every suicide and attempted suicide among these poor kids.

And another thing, since gays are not born that way, any 10-year-old "gay" kid most certainly was molested. I wonder if that is mentioned in this book. (rhetorical question. I already know that answer to that one.)

According to this MSNBC article, Poundstone drove drunk with the kids in the car. The molestation charges were dropped.

"Some people will doubtless pick up on the gay elements of the book, which are treated frankly and honestly, as being shocking and controversial

How's this for honest and shocking: there's no such animal as a gay 10-year-old.

Animals.

Any book promoting underage sex isn't acceptable. But even liberals think a book touting the joys of adolescent butt plugging is still too avant garde for our politically correct any thing goes culture. And I suspect this is just the kind of reading material pedophiles like. No wonder its having a hard time finding readers!!!

If you want to take the schools back, write to your MP and insist that Section 28 be maintained against the liberal onslaught. Mrs. Margaret Thatcher, a great Christian lady, fought long and hard to protect our children from sex maniacs. Vote Conservative! www.conservatives.com

"NEA spokesman Darryl Figueroa said just because a book appears in British schools and libraries doesn't mean it will find its way to the U.S. "I wouldn't necessarily see that as a natural jump," she said."

In other words: "Criminy! They found out about it. Now we'll have to find some other way to get it in like 'Heather Has Two Mommies'."
