I'm sure there are some. I can't think of any public figures right off the bat nor among my friends (which is strange given how many of my close friends are homosexual). I think a couple of the Catholics I know still would be against it in principle. I seem to remember a friend of mine tending to his niece once after she came to the city for an abortion. He didn't approve of it and agonized over the whole deal but probably took a pragmatic view of the whole thing. She was within her rights, what's done is done, sort of thing.
I think the connection is twofold:
- The issue is a litmus test for liberals. It's probably the Key issue, actually, by which the ragtag Rainbow Coalition of minorities and victims is morphed into a scythe they turn on their own -- and the rest of society -- with all due "Empowerment".
(The really great thing being that all this sound and fury over "fighting" to keep it legal is such a joke given the fact that Republicans have recognized Legal Abortion as absolutely critical to successful population control since 1974 (NSSM-200). Suckers.)
- Legal abortion is not only the linchpin of the GOP-mandated policy of population control at home and abroad, it's also the foundation for the Human Non-Personhood which enables President Bush to use "Excess" manufacture lives for research and affords homosexuals the ability to manufacture their "own" children.
Because the "right" to have a child (particularly one confected to spec ... as for the lesbians who wanted both of their children to be deaf) turns on ability to make best use of the window of Non-Personhood President Bush nailed open, I can see where it would be in the interest of homosexuals to support abortion.
Without the Mother-Only right to homocide, no one (not homosexuals, infertile breeders or Uncle Sam) would be able to buy, sell, experiment upon, destroy -- and sometimes implant in a uterus, even -- the distinct unborn human lives folks like to pretend are tadpoles, not frogs.
