Turn Your Back On Bush (Leftists Planning To Sabotage Bush 6-14 Speech)
Turn Your Back On Bush ^ | June 11, 2002 | Assorted Leftist Idiots

Posted on 06/11/2002 2:40:36 PM PDT by PJ-Comix

On June 14, at the Ohio State University, demonstrate your opposition to the Bush Administration's undemocratic policies:

Now's your chance to show that YOU don't approve of this President

- That YOU don't approve of his reckless environmental policies or coziness with big oil.

- That YOU don't approve of a "war on terror" that includes eradicating civil liberties and investigating/monitoring innocent Americans, including legal, law abiding immigrants, without probable cause.

- That YOU don't approve of the existing American foreign policy in the middle east.

- That YOU don't approve of the administration's close ties to Enron.

- That YOU don't approve of election fraud.

And that YOU don't approve of one of the most inarticulate and divisive Presidents in American history speaking at one of the most important events in YOUR history.

Stand up for:
-the restoration of democracy -the environment -civil liberties -quality and accessible education -constructive international relations -sensible defense policies -the rule of law, NOT rule of money -women's rights -GLBT rights -disability rights -native burial rights -cultural diversity -workers' rights -living wages -social welfare

WHAT TO DO:
For starters, if you're a graduate or a guest, just remember to stand up silently and "turn your back" while Bush gives his commencement address. It's that simple.

This is a form of protest based on the principles of Satyagraha -- nonviolent noncooperation with evil -- used by the Mahatma Gandhi and later by Martin Luther King, Jr.. Please remember it is important that you stay silent and do not resist arrest even if you've done nothing wrong (the charges will most likely be dropped, it is just a convenient way to detain you). If you must sit down, turn your chair around or sit in the chair backwards, to indicate your objection to the Bush regime.

For others, spread the word. Crowds mean media attention. And we need media attention- Lots of it. Encourage everyone, your friends and family, fellow students, anyone, to participate.

Read below for explicit instructions and important dates.

-->

DOWNLOAD FLYERS to print, copy and distribute:
(you will need the free Adobe Acrobat Reader to view and download PDF files)
1/4 page flyer [about 50k] | 1/8 page flyer [about 300k]

--> PLEASE CHALK on the OSU Campus:
"Turn Your Back on Bush, Fri., 6/14, www.turnyourbackonbush.com" (do NOT use paint or any hard-to-erase pigment).

-->

DECORATE YOUR MORTAR BOARD with a peace sign:
if hundreds of graduates have white peace signs on their caps, it will be very visually striking.
to view an example and instructions.

News Release - June 6, 2002
"OSU students, alumni, and community activists will Protest the Endless War, Defend Democracy, and Stand Up for Civil Liberties by holding a sunrise ceremony, a rally, street theater, and an alternative commencement. Good News, it does take only one person to make a web page. Let's stop giving it any hits.

As an alum who has gone through grad ceremonies in the horseshoe with thousands of my fellow-grads, no one will notice the few that participate in this. They will fade into the sea of people in the stands....

Crowds means media attention only for the left.

They don't need big crowds. The camera has a way of making small crowds appear big on the Tube. I remember watching an artificial protest in favor of a Euthanasia petition for the California ballot. The protestors were a small piddling "crowd" of no more than a dozen folks who played for the camera. That evening on Nightline I watched n amazement because that piddling "crowd" looked like a mass movement on the Tube. Of course, if the leftists are doing their back turning in the midst of a wall of "USA" chants, they will look awfully pathetic even on the Tube. Hee! Hee!

A 50foot TV screen positioned at the rear of the hall broadcasting Dubya's address would negate the lefts simple minded protest nicely. :-)

I betcha most Buckeyes will be pleased as punch to see their Commander-in-Chief at their Commencement.

They won't cotton to disrespect of the office, even if one doesn't like the occupant.

Idiot lefties. The more they do this, the more it will blow up in their faces.

Be Seeing You,

Chris

THE Ohio State University is not as lefty as you think. Sure, it has its share of commie-pinkos, but it isn't even close to anything in the Ivy League or in California.

LOL... That reminds me... I once dated an OSU graduate. She proudly and most strenuously reminded me that the official name of the school begins with the word "THE."

As for me, I bleed orange and blue and wouldn't be surprised if the same thing happened at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. The public schools are pretty much the same, becomming more and more leftist each year.

Oskee-Wow-Wow

Even better news---They've been busted thanx to a DUmmy who couldn't resist posting the info about this along with boasting about how he will have his daughter there in her political prisoner T-Shirt. (The DUmmy even posted a pic of her wearing that shirt on the DUmmy forum.)

I meant that it is good news that the entire OSU is not as liberal as ONE guy (with maybe five likeminded friends) making a web site makes someone possibly think. Then I said that we should not even visit this web site as to not give it any creedance or time or shown hits (visits).

"Uhh.. That was Kent State in Ohio, but I agree with your sentiment."

Mo,no Kent State was where there was the shootings. Ohio State in the early 70s were just beatings.....

Not really. I've visited most of the larger Universities and colleges in South Florida (Univ of Miami, Florida Atlantic University, Florida International University, and Broward Community College) and there is very LITTLE political activity. There was even one professional Leftist at the FIU campus who set up a table with anti-Bush propaganda. I observed him for a couple of hours until he left and only ONE person even bothered to pick up one of his leaflets. And that ONE person was ME since I was curious as to what it said.

When I was President of The Ohio State University College Republicans 1992 - 1994 we kicked Klintoon all over the place when he came to campus. (In fact the Klintoon campaign said they would never come back to Ohio State Univ. because of the poor reception. Yeah Haw!)

Ummm, so basically you did the exact same thing that the "lefties" are planning to do to G Dub? What? You were right in your actions because you like to hit conservativly from the right field? It's OK for you to protest the Democrats because you're a Republican, but if a Democrat protests your political belief system then that group of people are deemed "Traitors & Terrorists" ?

Forgive me if I seem a bit confused here, but where is the logic in that?

Mea culpa. That's what I get for making assumptions. Normally, when people refer to the National Guard and a college campus in Ohio they mean Kent State. You are correct. Beatings, not shootings, took place at THE Ohio State University.

Nice straw man. Too bad it won't fly. No one's calling a bunch of idiot, Birkenstock-wearing Deadheads "traitors and terrorists". The Lefties are well within their rights to protest. But we are giving FReepers and OSU Conservatives (many of whom probably lurk or post here) a "heads up" as to what the Birkenstock Bolsheviks are up to.

No, I'm afraid we're not about the business of comparing misguided Campus Leftist Democrats with "traitors and terrorists". After all, why would we want to insult fine, upstanding traitors and terrorists that way?

Be Seeing You,

Chris
