seen here sitting with Mom...has been observed carrying around the mandatory umbrella seat...
and Tiger says he might be getting an advantage over his peers because he is soooo long off the tee...More HERE

This may be a U.S. Open where no one breaks par. But, Tiger...........that girl is a KEEPER! And your Mom loves her too!

How do you know she's a keeper? Because she's eye candy?

The 499-yard 12th is the longest par-four hole in U.S. Open history with the 492-yard 10th not far behind. How things have changed over the years. I thought anything over 472 yards would automatically be a par 5. I guess they moved that marker. What's the current breaking point between a 4 and a 5?

Tiger had a very attractive distraction with him when he won the Open at Pebble, the British at St. Andrews and the PGA at Valhalla. The question is does Tiger have his concentration back to 2000 levels and do he and Butch Harmon have his swing tuned up?
If Tiger can hit it straight off the tee and his putter is working he will be hard to beat.
I do not expect anyone to go real low or run away from the field at Bethpage. The long track, Open rough and dropping to par 70 should have fixed that. There should be plenty of players within a three or four shots.
Saturday and Sunday should be fun and NBC has 6 or 7 hours of coverage each day,

That course will be brutal.

What's the current breaking point between a 4 and a 5?Usually it's whether the legs were straight and the toes pointed.

There is no "written in stone" rule as to when a hole changes from a par 4 to a par 5. A 499 yard hole at Bethpage is immensely more difficult than a 499 yard hole in Denver. Plus the goal of the USGA with the US Open is always to have the winner at no better than par. Doesnt always work out, but it is not unusual for the best golfers in the world to shoot in the 80's in the Open.
And didnt Nick Price (I think) say that if Tiger shoots 10 under he is quiting the game?

Tiger has never won on a par 70 course. Guess what the par is on this course.

Tigers advantage is that his 2 iron is as long as many guys drivers. While accuracy is going to be at a premium, it isnt going to be enough. Hitting every fairway with a drive of 250 isnt gonna cut it. 280+ and in the fairway is the minimum needed.
People like Corey Pavin and Jeff Sluman should plan on enjoy Thursday and Friday because they will likely not be playing on the weekend.
The biggest shocker so far is that Fred Couples failed to qualify for the Open.

This will be the Tiger story in New York. He will be the center of attention over the weekend and the ratings will be huge. Would be nice if the whole thing were on the up and up.

Golf is probably by far the hardest professional sport to rig. I would say it is virtually impossible.

What's the current breaking point between a 4 and a 5?Quite often what is a par 72 for us hackers is transformed into a par 70 for these Pro Bangers, like Tiger and Daly, by changing two of the par 5's into 4's!!

I've played all the courses at Bethpage except Black, grrrr. They are all long from the tips and the best way to describe the rough is not to call it grass because its a vine that eats hosels. If you have a flat swing, like Justin Leonard, furgetaboutit.

Tiger may never see his "Waterloo." Tiger Woods on the golf course is like Bobby Fischer at the chess board. No one on the planet can beat him unless he beats himself.
Like Fischer, Woods may one day just get bored by so dominating the field and walk away from it to pursue other things.

Tiger will not walk away because of dominance. He will stick with it until he has won more majors than Jack. Once that happens, a quick retirement is not out of the question. And he could do that by 35.

I've played all the courses at Bethpage except Black, grrrr. What, you don't want to get in line at 12:00AM to await your 8:00AM teetime? LOL. I was recently in Old Bethpage on business and spoke with some folks who've played the Black. They described it as a 5 hour affair unless you're close to a scratch golfer. I can only imagine.
They are all long from the tips and the best way to describe the rough is not to call it grass because its a vine that eats hosels. If you have a flat swing, like Justin Leonard, furgetaboutit.
Yep, that's the way it looked on TV. Incidentally, I understand the USGA made NY State agree to cap greens fees for 10 years at current prices. Something like $35 for NYers? Is that true?

Given that Tiger has more money than he could ever spend in 4 lifetimes and that he is waking up next to her, does he care if he wins? Not sure if I would....;-)
Man, she is all kinds of hot!
