Lundgren was an authoritarian pig

So what was so bad about Lundgren? Did he make your expenses for drug purchasing go up too much, or do you have some other complaint against him comparable to those against Lockyear? He was certainly a lousy candidate for governor, but it sounds like more than that sort of objection, seeing your language. I do remember that he was considered as a candidate for VP, back when Quayle was picked, on the grounds that the GOP rarely won the presidency without a Californian on the ticket, and Wilson wouldn't be acceptable.

That isn't even the point. The man actively sought to circumvent the expressed will of the state voters. And he wanted to lock people up simply for telling others that marijuana might relieve one or more of their medical conditions.

He supported the expansion of gun control legislation, and even duped hundreds of gun owners into admitting they were breaking the law by offering a phoney "registration" amnesty.

He liberally used asset forfeiture laws and failed to thoroughly investigate the deaths of numerous victims of "no knock" warrant searches, including a very suspicious shooting death on a piece of land desired by the federal government (a shooting involving federal park police, no less).

He fought against Native Americans rights to organize cities and police departments on their reservations.

That ain't my kind of Republican. He lost because he turned people like me off.
