Of these new immigrants to Israel, many were Christians who claimed a distant ancestor as being Jewish. Still others anxious to leave Russia falsely claimed they were Jewish. Actually, there is ample evidence in the Bible that Christians are considered 'Jews.'
"You are Abraham's seed and heirs to the promise..." See Eph. 3.
Romans 11 also speaks of those who follow Christ as being 'grafted into the vine' of the Jewish faith.
Food for thought...

Abraham of course was not Jewish. And his seed extends far beyond those few members of the Southern Kingdom who returned from Babylon 1,500 years later to become known as Jews.

Actually, there is ample evidence in the Bible that Christians are considered 'Jews.'Actually, there is no evidence whatever of that communication-destroying assertion, and immense evidence in the opposite direction.
- The words "Jew," "Jews," and "Jewish" are used in some one hundred eighty-seven verses in the New Testament
- NOT ONE of those uses refers to a Gentile Christian as a Jew
- Paul indeed distinguishes the groupings as "Jews ...Greeks ...[and] the church of God" (1 Corinthians 10:32) three groupings, not two or one.
- If the Bible is God's word, Jeremiah 31:35-40 iron-clad GUARANTEES that Israel remains as a distinct national entity with a future in the plan of God.
- If the church is now, in any sense, Israel, so that "Israel" is a codeword for "not-Israel", then the Bible cannot be the word of God in any meaningful, useful sense
How tragic and shameful that so many "Reformed" folks are so stubbornly UN-Reformed when it comes to reading the Old Testament and prophecy.
