Who is a fine man. He should not be confused with these other fools.
I do as well. The Church is (and should be) a beacon of hope for millions. I believe it is under attack for many reasons; not the least of which it is doing the work of Jesus Christ. One casual glance at scripture is witness to the fact that those who proclaim the good news of Christ's redemtion through the cross will be persecuted.
But (you knew there would be a 'but', however it is respectful)--there is something else here. The efforts in Dallas and other efforts to "fix this problem" remind me of spin.
When Christ came upon the money changers in His Father's house, His reaction was to throw them out. Quick, and with indignation. There were some things He would not abide. People tend to focus on His mercy and forgiveness, but He (as the Son of God) will not bend on certain central tenents--one being the holiness of God.
In my opinion, we moneychangers in the house of the Lord would be a relief compared to what has infiltrated it now.
I share your prayers that the church comes through this crisis stronger than ever. I just hope that the evil within it is truly purged.
Thanks.
