Trying to fit in with the "cool crowd",huh? Speak Spanish?
I was hoping it had something to do with roast beef and cooking on a particular stove
Now, what transpired during WWII with the interment camps was questionable. But so far here, I think our actions have been quite restrained and reasonable.
Thank you, I am really sorry that A+Bert would stoop so low.
Bin Laden is just the excuse people are using to try and demand we blindly follow Bubba-2 without question.Pete, that is both ignorant and offensive.
First off, Bin Laden and crew have murdered thousands and disrupted the lives of millions of Americans. They have a goal increasing the upheaval in the US via economic havoc until there is a revolution, which will end the US reign as a worldwide power. That isn't an excuse. It is a moral imperative.
Secondly, calling Bush "Bubba-2" is equally ignorant. I don't like everything he has done (particularly with campaign finance) but the fact is that he pulled us out of Kyoto, put the kibosh on abortion funding overseas and had the US torpedo intentionally vague "family planning services" language in other UN efforts, he got the US out of the UN's small arms convention, he got us out of the obsolete treaty with Russia, he pushed through a tax cut, and for the first time in a century has the US government arguing that the 2nd amendment means what it says. And I am leaving a bunch of things that he did out.
Has he compromised too much with the Democrats? That is a valid question. But it is nothing but propaganda to say that he is no different than the sleaze that inhabited the office before him. Whenever I see someone attempting to make such a case, I find it very difficult to not merely dismiss that person as either a headcase or a propagandist. Is that really how you want to come across?
What does me expecting the war on terror to end have to do with the statement made by the Professor that I posted? But no, I don't expect it to end anytime soon.
I don't expect it to end, ever. So Padilla will be held forever, without ever even being charged with a crime or ever having the chance to defend himself in a manner that the Founding Fathers wished. If that does not strike you as just a wee bit unconstitutional, I don't know what else to say.
And something tells me you spent it on booze and dames and wasted the rest. |
War is the health of the state.
Do you REALLY think there won't be more attacks,or that none of them will be successful?I pray there won't be, but I believe there will be. That is one reason I am not trying to tie our government's hands (and, I assume, is one of the reasons that leftist radicals are trying to tie our government's hands) in the effort to minimize the potential.
I worry when I see Freepers marching in lockstep with the radicals over at the IAC, which it seems many on this thread want to do with Padilla.
"But how do you send a freepmail when you are suspended? I tried and it said "your freepmail rights" have been suspended"."
One can always send a regular email. The address to reach Jim at came with the registration confirmation. If you have lost it, just request your password to be re-sent to your mail account, and you will get it.
No they do NOT become citizens.--Texasforever
What difference does it make when they will certainly be eligible for citizenship within 10 years? In the meantime many of them will vote in our elections anyway because no one has the political will to stop them. But what really wreaks about this amnesty is that: 1.) It rewards ILLEGAL aliens for breaking our immigration laws. 2.) It tells the world that if someone wants to get residency in America the best way is to break our laws. 3.) It pushes law-abiding immigrants that wait patiently for years to the back of the line for FOLLOWING OUR LAWS. 4.) It gives opportunity for TERRORISTS to apply for green cards with minimal background checks. 5.) It shows that our government is not serious at all about enforcing our immigration laws or protecting our sovereignty as a nation.
How Bush could push such nonsense, especially during a war, is a question for the ages. But then again Bush doesn't seem all that concerned about protecting our borders or enforcing any our immigration laws either.
You still think this is a good idea Tex?
