My second favorite team to root for now is surprising Senegal

He's my MVP. He did a great job getting us through those first few minutes and dealing with a game played mostly in his end.

I cant believe I stayed up to watch this, my heart was pounding in my chest!!! No nails left here.

Good for your sister :). IT feels great. After a long weekend, I cannot go to sleep now after that win. Going to get something to drink and read about this victory all over the net :).

With Germany not playing great this time and USA doing an pretty good job, it would be an interesting match. I will be here for that match.

I'm not worried about the Germans. I'm worried about getting to sleep! Ditto!
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
[I'm wasted!]

Jolly good show, Brit. We'll take care of Germany for you in 3 daysNothing would give me more pleasure than seeing you beat Germany!
Well, except for England winning the cup, of course!

I'm finishing off my last beer and reading through the thread. I know everyone has gone to bed, so here's a late night bumb for the morning readers on the east coast (I'm in So Cal).
Don't get caught up in the euphoria of a victory against a familiar team. We made a lot of mistakes, expecially in the short pass/ball control aspect of the game. Mexico outplayed the US for the for 60 minutes, then they ran out of gas for the last 30, and lost their cool too.
Germany plays a very physical, rough game. They lead the world cup in goals scored AND in penalties. They are going to be about five days rested coming into the US match - we'll have three days - just enough to work through the aches and pains.
Germany WILL be the prohibitive favorite. But you can never count out a team with heart and spunk = and that's what we have!

The Mexicans were arrogant and overconfident about the Yanks. The Krauts will be sure to take the Americans more seriously. It'll be The Game Of The Century.
To: capitan_refugio
Going by the books, the Germans the favorites for the next game, but I would sure love to see USA win that game :)

Ha!
Cheers for the link... now that would be a good match!

;-) A shocker for the ages.

Right now I am rooting for the Belginas on that side of the Draw. Followed closely by the English. So if the Belgians do not make it, make sure your team makes it to the finals. The USA will be there waiting to open another can of Whoopass.

Bring it on! Yeah!

LOL
It's always slightly confusing seeing your username when I scroll through screens in FR, as Mike K is my real name!
