Give it time, should be a normal church practice in a few years. Gay marriage, multiple spouses, eventually marrying your kids. This guy was just ahead of his time :)

Correction " He Screwed up " should be changed th "HE's Screwed UP"

A great example of what one Stupid misguided Idiot in clerical garb can do to the Church.

There is something fishy in this story. I'll bet the minister was not so naive, but he's pleading ignorance to get out of being proscecuted.

This clown is almost certainly a Protestant, I wonder which flavor. He ought to be defrocked and held civilly liable for this nonsense.

On another thread, an author offers the premise that Christianity is dying. Reading this, I wonder if that author might be correct.

Hey, at least the guy tendered his resignation. In our day and age, all you have to do is say "perhaps in retrospect that was unwise," and if anything you might even get a salary increase.

The Legacy of Bill Clinton marches on.

he told them before the ceremony that "they were nuts," but they were persistent and he finally agreed to their request.

He blesses a sin because the sinners were persistent? This guy is nuts!

"Schwab says he told them before the ceremony that "they were nuts,"

Yup! And he is a sane human being and righteous Pastor. Some days you just don't want to go out.

Here's the story - Catholic Church members and Pastor (is that the same as a priest? Doesn't say..)

Bad games lead to 'Go-to-jail' card Man, 2 women arrested, jailed charged with playing 'sex games' with 2 teen girls
6/11/02
By Ian Rollins The Argus

FOREST GROVE -- Police have announced the arrest of three people, including a husband and wife, for playing sex games with two teenage girls multiple times over the last two years.

Howell William Marsh and Bonny Marie Marsh, both 43, and Kimberly Ann Tasa-Ralph, 46, are lodged in the Washington County Jail on multiple sex charges, ranging from first-degree rape to using a child in a display of sexually explicit conduct.

The three were arrested on Wednesday, then arraigned in Washington County Circuit Court on Thursday. Howell Marsh faces three charges each of first-degree rape, first-degree sodomy and using a child in display of sexually explicit conduct, and two charges of first-degree sex abuse.

Tasa-Ralph faces the same three charges of using a child in a display of sexually explicit conduct, as well as three charges of third-degree sodomy.

The three are scheduled for trial on July 23.

A month-long police investigation revealed that Tasa-Ralph and the Marshes had been playing sexual games with the girls for the last few years, at the Marshes' home in the 3300 block of Main Street. One of the games included drawing numbers, which corresponded to various sex acts, which the suspects then would perform with the girls.

Lt. Aaron Ashbaugh, Forest Grove Police, said detectives first learned of this after one of the girls told someone else of the alleged abuse. That person told the police, he said.

The indictments cover incidents as far back as 1996, said Lesowski, but most of the abuse happened within the last two years.

When asked about the relationships between the suspects and victims, Ashbaugh would only say that the suspects and victims knew each other. Ashbaugh also said the acts appeared to be consensual, that nothing was forced on anyone.

Ashbaugh also said that, in 25 years, he's never seen anything like this before. It's not unusual to use all kinds of ways to 'groom' the victims, he said. It's possible the games were part of the 'grooming' process. But I've never seen games as part of the process.

I can't find the words to describe it. Disturbing might cover it.

Howell and Bonny Marsh are being held in the Washington County Jail on $2.75 million and $1.75 million bail, respectively. Tasa-Ralph also is in jail, on $780,000 bail.

The three are members of St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Forest Grove. They had received a blessing for a three-person marriage from that church's priest, Father Elwin Schwab.

Apparently, he did participate in some kind of blessing, said Bud Bunce, communications director for the Archdiocese of Portland. Any priest who would do something like that is acting contrary to church law and church practice.

Schwab has since announced that he will resign. The archdiocese now must decide whether or not accept the resignation. That won't happen until next week, as the archbishop is out of town this week, Bunce said.

Schwab would not comment on the situation.

An Oregon pastor who blessed the relationship of a threesome says he's a "sucker" who only wants "to help people."

I'm not sure if 'sucker' is the right word here pastor. I can think of at least five more appropriate descriptions of what you are.

I'm curious how he worded the blessing. Maybe?:

O Lord, Bless thou this union, and the various combinations thereof, and these thy faithful servants who are working overtime to be fruitful and multiply. Amen

"Schwab says he told them before the ceremony that "they were nuts," but they were persistent and he finally agreed to their request. He says he had no idea they may have been involved in playing sex games with underaged girls. "

This Pastor is the one that is nuts!!!! or he is reading another book than the good book. Can you imagine a man of the cloth that is so amoral that he allows his paritioners to dictate to him what he should do? I bet if you look deep enough into this you will find that the threesome paid a hefty amount for him to perform the service, why else would they have been able to be so persuasive?
