It's obvious from this that Nickelodeon does not care what we think. And that's their prerogative. I suggest we demonstrate to them the well-known danger of ignoring one's customers: bankruptcy.

Do not watch Nickelodeon. Do not let your kids watch Nickelodeon. Do not buy Nickelodeon-licensed products, including anything by or about "Rugrats." Let's give the free market a chance to speak on our behalf.

Good luck, Nick. Or should I say, Good Night!

Nickelodeon said that's not so. Ellerbee, in the show's introduction, says, ``The following program is about tolerance ...

Except, of course, if you're talking about straight, and/or white, and/or conservative, and/or Christians. But then that goes without saying.

It is not about sex. It does not tell you what to think.''

Well, no, of course they're not going to tell you what to think. Instead it's going to be a case of nudge, nudge,nudge...

What gets me is that despite getting over 100K objections managment's attitude is till: "Let them eat cake"

This isn't surprizing to me, as Rosie O'Donnells girlfriend is an employee of Nickle"odd"eon.

If parents become aware and care,.. they will turn off this channel in protest. No viewers, no advertisers, no program.

I'm tired of this hidden agenda. This would teach kids that this lifestyle is perfectly normal. Whether they "talk" about SEX or not.. they imply the lifestyle is normal. Actions speak louder than words.

So,.. who are the sponsors for Nickel"odd"eon???

a gay New York City firefighter who is a father of three um...exactly how did he "father" those children? Did it not take a woman?

It is automatically "hate" if you disagree with their liberal view. Next they'll want to ship you off to concentration camps if you speak out against them.

Same-sex parents is an impossibilty, let me add. Not of the same child anyway. This is a manufactured issue.

``The following program is about tolerance ... It is not about sex.

Ah, yet again, a group of people who tell us that the only difference between them and the rest of society is who they have sex with, is trying to tell us that a show about them isn't about sex.

The show, at least, is about tolerance for the sexual acts of others, which would be fine and dandy to me, except its on a kids television network.

Like I have said before, society is screwed up because everything these days that is pusched at kids has to be about sex.

I wonder if Linda Ellerbee will do a special on misunderstood Catholic priests. After all, if we are to discount The Bible's teachings on homosexuality, shouldn't we also discount any moral teachings against pedophilia?

Curious that she doesn't have any NAMBLA reps on the special.

Much better to have a TV and make your statement by not watching and letting the station know why! At least, that's my take on it....

she conceived of this show upon reading that the word ``fag'' had become the most common schoolyard epithet

In schools around here, the word used to describe something that is perceived as stupid or weird is "gay," as in: "oh, that is SO gay." My kids say it and I hear their friends say it. And you know what? I do not say a word to them. I believe it serves the purpose of social ostracization of inappropriate and/or socially unacceptable behavior. The P.C. thought police are trying to remove this last remaining barrier to aberrant sexual behavior, and they will probably succeed. I an sure in some schools the use of the word "gay" in such a manner would get you a suspension and a visit to sensitivity training. However, even though I do not particularly like hearing this said, as I do not like lots of things adolescents sometimes say or do (ex: say "like, you know" all the time), we think it's best to simply ignore this one.

My kids watch Nick a LOT. I am really disappointed in this one, but not surprised. Ellerbee is a liberal through and through. I might just sit down and watch it with them. Afterwards, I can take the time to discuss and debunk the trash that is sure to be presented on the show. Kids need reality checks after all the garbage they are fed - and Nick isn't the only place it comes from. Arm your kids with the facts.

Like children need to learn how great it is when their sick government-blessed care_takers consume each other at their expense, and found each other for pure consumption preferences (sex-preferences).

As for the needed Clinton comment, isn't it ironic TV and Clinton tell us it is their private matter in OUR public White House, but they have to broadcast their PC crap to our children about what is great for them.

I am disgusted by this socialist hypocrisy that incite consumption and consumption based hatred in children.

My message to Nickelodeon:

"I do not think it is appropriate to be discussing homosexuality on children's television. This is an issue that should be discussed between parent and child according to considerations of age of the child and level of understanding. I will no longer be allowing my daughter to watch Nickelodeon, nor will I buy any products related to Nickelodeon, e.g. Blue's Clues, Rug Rat's, Sponge Bob, etc."

Ellerbee, in the show's introduction, says, ``The following program is about tolerance ... It is not about sex. It does not tell you what to think.''

So, maybe the program "is not about sex", per se. But if it "is about tolerance" then it DOES "tell you what to think".
