The distinction is INTENT. What is the intent of an actor in a film? You'd have to ask him or her -- because the nature of a film is to act according to a script and not merely act out the actor's own preferences.

A porno doesn't allude to INTENT..the act is actually portrayed. Two straight actors can act in a homoerotic venue (ex. Interview With a Vampire) and not commit a homosexual act. An actor in a porn film is actually committing a homosexual act. In a normal film, intent of the players can be questioned and bandied about; however, in a porn flick, the intent isn't questioned because they carry it to its conclusion.
