An elementary school teacher who appeared in a pornographic gay video was suspended without pay by the Broward School Board on Tuesday, beginning a multistep process to fire him.

But Anthony Vanchieri, who taught physical education at Coconut Creek Elementary, plans to appeal -- which puts the firing on hold, said his attorney Steve Rossi.

School Board members said little before voting unanimously to support the administration's recommendation to fire him.

The administration's petition stated, "Undoubtably, Respondent's actions have publicly disgraced the education profession as a whole, and violated School Board policies."

Vanchieri first made headlines last fall when he appeared on the TV show Temptation Island 2 as a "tempter" who tried to lure women away from their boyfriends.

Trying to lure women away from their boyfriends did NOT get him fired. Apparently, such activity is considered a "very high standard ethically and morally"

This has all been a gigantic misunderstanding. My client was not performing in a homosexual porno film, rather, he was making an educational film to be shown in the school's Alternative Sexuality class.

My papa stepped in with the school when our drooling gym teacher demanded that we must walk by her and drop our towels under the guise we were not showering. These people do not know shame. Seriously, keep eyes very focussed on schools whether it is your own children or grandkids.

Omgoodness, I just remembered how our Vice Principal in intermediate school tried to date us. At one dance, I almost threw up the way was acting with me.

I must say though, that my kids went to Catholic school, and one of the nuns was a bit tetched. I showed up the next day when she was demanding to sniff underwear. Let's face it, one needs to be in every second of one's kid's lives.

I went to boring schools. None of the teachers I knew of were involved in any major or minor scandals. There was a rumour that my high school history teacher was gay, but no one really cared and it wasn't as though he were hitting on the students.

The "worst" teacher I know of was an English teacher who yelled at students...of course, they typically deserved it.

In HS in the 60s we had two gay guys who were inseparable and never talked to anyone else. They were always on Acid. One morning they were tripping and playing on the highway on the way to school. A well-liked History teacher ran over and killed one of them. They other committed suicide several months later. In 4 years, 8 students out of about 40 of us on my school bus routed died from preventable causes. Statistically, we would have been safer in Viet Nam.
