Well, one thing that seems to be working in our favor is that these would-be terrorists,

aren't the sharpest pencils in the box,
are a few bricks shy of a full load,
their elevators don't quite go to the top floor.

Ah, well, somewhere in the Middle East there are villages missing their resident idiot.

You are absolutely correct about this. The bottom line is that these guys are 10th century assassins. They are unaccustomed to western ways and invariably stick out like sore thumbs.

They are being led by a bunch of fanatics who blame their ills on the US, the Jews, and western society. These guys are still pissed about the Battle of Tours (their side lost). Does anyone really think they can't be defeated?

Don't count on it. They will learn from their mistakes. Will we?

True, they are not very smart, but they don't need to be.

Well, with all due respect to you and your very self centered observation remember that the above charecterized people caused 9-11 and the highly civilized, intelligent with all the modern & sophisticated technology people on our side couldn't stop them.

The problem that we have is that far too many Americans see the things that make these lowlifes really stick out as things that we need to just tolerate more. Too many Americans think they just need to understand these people more, as opposed to being suspicious of their behavior. Just look at the woman from Dept of Ag. that was approached for a loan by Mohammed Atta. She said that his threatening her life, demanding cash so he could build a cropduster, throwing money on the desk demanding the photo of DC, etc. as just cultural differences that she just needed to be more understanding of.

These people are typically dumb as rocks but unfortunately the PC crowd has brainwashed too many Americans to overlook the obvious so that it probably works in their favor. We were lucky that in the first WTC bombing back in 1993 that the clerk at the Ryder truck rental place was alert enough to contact police when the brain surgeon came back for the deposit on the truck he had just blown up. If the terrorist back then had the sense to just not go back, we probably never would have caught any of them. The more outrageous the behavior, the more we aren't supposed to notice.

Not really -- remember the government employee to whom Atta paid a visit to get a government loan to buy a crop duster? He talked about putting a larger chemical tank in the plane, ranted about slitting people's throats, wanted to buy an aerial view of D.C. on the wall, returned disguised as someone else, and was thoroughly insulting to her because she was a woman.

What did she do? Nothing. She was concerned about helping him integrate into American society. I don't think she's atypical -- the owner of this New Jersey shop is.

As long as people like the government employee exist, they'll keep trying, no matter how stupid it may seem -- besides, there's more than enough people out there who'll do anything for money, and the terror slimes have plenty of that.
