"There was a piece in there by Mary Magdalene saying she was in love with Jesus ["I Don't Know How to Love Him”] and I knew I wasn't going to sing that song.

One of the most beautiful and passionate songs I've ever heard, quite frankly. In my opinion, it's when Mary Magdalene realizes JC is MORE than just another Joe---that's why she doesn't know how to love him. He's unlike any other man she's ever known. Good Lord, this poor girl and her family are dimwits of the highest order. Here are the lyrics:

I don't know how to love him
What to do, how to move him
I've been changed, yes really changed
In these past few days
When I've seen myself
I seem like someone else

I don't know how to take this
I don't see why he moves me
He's a man
He's just a man
And I've had so many
Men before
In very many ways
He's just one more

Should I bring him down
Should I scream and shout
Should I speak of love
Let my feelings out?
I never thought I'd come to this
What's it all about?

Don't you think it's rather funny
I should be in this position?
I'm the one
Who's always been
So calm so cool
No lover's fool
Running every show
He scares me so

I never thought I'd come to this
What's it all about?

Yet
If he said he loved me
I'd be lost
I'd be frightened
I couldn't cope
Just couldn't cope
I'd turn my head
I'd back away
I wouldn't want to know
He scares me so
I want him so
I love him so

And she is a prostitue who is changed by meeting Jesus. She can't relate to men in the same old way anymore. And she fears G-d now that she knows him.

Yep, real disrespectful that music.

Shalom.

I wouldn't sing those words either. He is not just a man. Rather, Christians believe He is both fully human and fully Divine . . .

However, I do respect the PRIVATE school's right to handpick their student body. I think that if I were the girl I would have just mouthed the words, in stead of taking a risky, though corageous, stand.

I was waiting for the eventual appearance of this one.

When she says she doesn't know how to love him, it's a metaphor for loving God. She was used to loving men, "in very many ways." This time, it's different. It's a spiritual love that she doesn't understand and is just awakening to.
