Great letter. Too many Illinois voters have an image of Durbin as a laid back sort of cipher, when in reality he's an extremely partisan, loyal 'RAT obstructionist. His fellow Springfield residents know him best and they've dropped their support for him in droves. We must get the rest of the state to follow.

My goal by posting this is to entice FReepers to hold the members of the Judiciary Committee responsible for this ruling. With enough publicity, they will be forced to approve all of President Bush's nominations.

I applaud your effort, MaGoo. We alse need to contact/encourage the Republican Party to join/lead this charge.

I will definitely be sending a letter to the Editor to my hometown downstate daily newspaper as well as others (Champaign Gazette, Blm. Pantagraph). I will compose it a bit later after the kids go to bed :-) (translation: when I won't be interrupted!).

Since the obstruction of the Daschle Democrats is the fault of ALL of the Daschle Democrats, I think perhaps you ought to give everyone here permission to copy your letter promiscuously, substituting other Senator's names for Durbin's...and of course changing the personal items you included.

I cannot believe that this would even be taken seriously by this horrible athiest person. When I was a little girl a man like this would have been laughed off the streets to even attempt this kind of thing.
