(CNSNews.com) - The Democratic National Committee is using Bill Clinton's birthday as a fundraising pitch, inviting the public to send their birthday wishes to the former president along with a "generous contribution to the Democratic Party."
August 19th is the former president's 56th birthday, according to a statement from the committee.
"Even though President Clinton is no longer in office, he still works for you every day - encouraging economic growth and empowerment, advancing racial and religious reconciliation, fighting AIDS at home and abroad, and promoting citizen service," DNC Chairman Terry McAuliffe said in a statement Thursday.
"Through his ongoing efforts, President Clinton continues to show Americans that he still cares about our future," McAuliffe added.
The pitch also includes an e-mail link for people to send their greetings, and encourages writers to send money to the DNC "to help our fight to win crucial victories this November."
"So let's show President Clinton that he remains in our hearts and minds by sending him your special birthday message," McAuliffe said.

I think of Marylin Monroe singing Happy Birthday to JFK.
Then, again, these two dead icons don't deserve the comparision.

Does this slackjaw ever use the proper prefix where "Former" President Clinton is concerned?
I will never forget how the Slickster never referred to Bush 1 as President. Never.
To: Moosejaw
Gag. When you click on the link, the form says, "Happy Birthday Mr. President. We miss you!
We miss you? The man has yet to even go away!

Too bad I can't send him my own birthday greeting with agreeing to either send cash or be signed up for email updates from the DNC.

"So let's show President Clinton that he remains in our hearts and minds by sending him your special birthday message," McAuliffe said.Perhaps I shall thank this stupid prick for leading us straight into 9/11.
The 16-acre hole in the ground a few blocks from me is his legacy. I hope he lives a long, healthy life -- just to watch helplessly as that is his legacy.

Me too. And one for his wife and the people behind them.

There were some gross errors in this transcript. I've corrected them below:
"Even though President Clinton is no longer infesting the office, he still works you over every day - encouraging econazi growth and embezzelment, advancing racist and felonious recompensation, risking AIDS at home and with a broad, and promoting citizen servitude," DNC Chairman Terry McAuliffe slurred in a statement Thursday.
