Just heard on NPR -- two Liberals discussing the possibility that the crash of Wellstone's plane was caused by political enemies; i.e. Evil Republicans/Conservatives.
What truly excreble people.

Note to the libs: I don't think it was a threat from conservatives that caused the security establishment to advise senators to steer away from golf courses for a while.

Let's tell the truth about what happened on NPR...some nut called in and mentioned the possibility of murder. The two NPRers didn't discuss it; they just ignored the remark and moved on.
To: who knows what evil?
interesting huh?
we all feel it in our bones... the clintong crime machine had wellsey whacked to try and hold on to the senate... first carnahan, then the torch, now wellstone... this is a pattern.
They ditch their known losers at the last minute (using extreme measures) to get free publicity and face time... and sympathy for the "fallen" heros of the democrat death cult.
"carnahan syndrome" was the torch's prospectus, until he dropped out. I believe democrats are criminals. They are the party of abortion, patricide and terrorists against america... What makes anybody think the party that did ron brown in, and supports the murder of millions of babies, would hesitate for ONE second to off their own... after all it's not personal, it's "just business."
I think the dems did it. They serve to benefit from this... and control of the senate is at stake.

The investigation will probably find that the wings were iced (decending through a layer of super cooled rain) that will instantly freeze to the wing. Probably overwhelmed the ability of the deicing gear or the other possibility is that the pilots did not have the deicing gear on or it failed during the decent. A rapid build up of ice can occur and the stall speed goes up quickly. The wing probably stalled as they slowed down for approch and at low altitude the pilot did not have time to recover.
Any King Air pilots reading this please comment on the deicing gear on the King Air.

Heard the plane was being landed remote control and that they lost radio a minute before the crash, strange indeed. There's no such thing as landing a plane "by remote control".
The plane was on approach in light snow and freezing rain. That's a recipe for moderate to severe ice accumulation, which changes the shape of the wing and can quickly cause a loss of lift.
My prediction, even before reading the transcription of the ATC tapes: the pilot let the plane get too slow during the final approach and it stalled/spinned. At such a low altitude, there's no chance for recovery.

It is more likely that the DEMS did it. After the fiasco in New Jersey, look for the DEMS to put Jesse or Bill Clinton or some big name on the ballot to keep the seat.
If Wellstone's odds were shaky, what better way for them to do it.

It's much more likely that the Democrat mob headed by the Clintons is responsible for the crash since Wellstone's seat was not secure. Now whoever they choose to replace him will win the sympathy vote, as in Jean Carnahan of Missouri. There are certain members of the socialist left that would do ANYTHING to hang on to control of the Senate. Bingo. And at the same time they blame it on the evil mean-spirited bigoted conservatives. It's the same misdirection the liberals have been resorting to since the Klintons seized power in the first place.
Call it a political scorched earth policy.

It wasn't okay to even entertain the idea that the Beltway Sniper was a Muslim in spite of all the evidence, but it's perfectly okay to accuse evil white men of murder without a single shred of evidence a murder was even committed.
Political correctness is a mighty nice convenience.

Maybe W should nominate some dead people for Federal and Supreme Court vacancies. The RATs approve of dead people, both as voters and a candidates. If Wellstone is elected, I insist that they seat his corpse in the Senate chamber.
To: lasereye
no doubt.. lasikeye.. IF an extremist on the right wanted to change the senate this way they would have picked a senator with 4 years to go from a state with a republican governor (assuming MN lets the gov pick the replacement).. not from state with a vulernable candidate and a wackie govenor that might end up appointing himself

STOP funding for National Propaganga Radio. NOW!What I heard of NPR this afternoon was wall to wall anti war propaganda. Missed the Wellstone speculation.

We live not too far from Evelyth... The conditions here this a.m. were horrible --- freezing rain, freezing temps, etc. I know a number of people who fly these types of planes and quite a few of them have said that in these conditions, icing was probably the primary factor in the crash. One even said that the pilot had to be nuts to be flying that type of plane in this weather..
Just my observations today...
That said ---- I will keep the family of Paul Wellstone in my prayers...

Funny ....
When a conservative republican's small airplace lost ITS propeller and HE almost lost HIS life shortly after he found incriminating evidence against Hillary Clinton early in the Whitewater investigations ....
.... Nobody, but nobody claimed democrats were to blame.
To: pabianice
democrats will do anything to keep control of the Senate.
To: pabianice
Bullshit.
I listen to NPR every day (Can't get AM inside my building at work) and they didn't discuss anything of the sort. All they've done is have newscasts about the events and run interviews with people about Wellstone.
NPR sucks but what this poster has stated is FALSE!

You forgot the Projectile Vomit Alert!

The wing probably stalled as they slowed down for approch and at low altitude the pilot did not have time to recover. At last, some reality. A friend was badly injured when his plane was overwhelmed by rapid icing. In some situations its not possible to recover control of the plane. It's likely that's what happened here. No murder plot at all.
Our prayers to the families who experienced this loss.

From the "Party of Arkanicide"! Evil is as evil does. I'm not surprised at their speculation. I'm just surprised at their naivite!
Names please!

IF an extremist on the right wanted to change the senate this way they would have picked a senator with 4 years to go from a state with a republican governor Like, say... Edward Kennedy? Oops! Bad example. He was rumored to have been on that plane, at first!
