I thought Jim Jeffords was a chicken-$%#@ for switching parties after he ran as a member of the other one. I still think it's sort of letting the voters down no matter which way it goes.
Phil Gramm had it right. When he switched, he resigned his seat as a Demo. and ran again as a Rep.
I think that's the right way to do it.

I agree. Phil did it right. What a class act. Wish he had stayed one more term, cause he would head Budget Committee if he did.

"Phil Gramm had it right. When he switched, he resigned his seat as a Demo. and ran again as a Rep. I think that's the right way to do it."Right on BigWest. That is the proper way to do it. The voters then know where a person stands when they cast their vote.

I hate to admit tit, but I agree. To run as a representative of a particular party and then switch as soon as you're in, is not the way to do it. It seems dishonest to me.

Dumpocraps had better be careful about the legal presidents they set. They all could be used against them in an emergency someday.

I agree with you. If you run as a dim, you need to stay a dim. Same with the Pubbies.

If the voters voted in a stinkin' rat, then that's what they get. If you want to change parties, then you should have to run again.
