Missing Adult, HELP NEEDED (crime in progress?) [SC]

I JUST got off the phone with my neice. It seems my sister (her mother) is missing since yesterday between 3pm and 4:40pm yesterday from the SouthCarolina area.

She headed north as far as we can track, but then nothing. This is TOTALLY uncharacteristic of her.

We need to know if she is on her own willingly making decisions, or if she has been abducted and is in need of help. Is there anybody from that area that can help?

ok, she spoke to hubbie from home via phone about 3 pm yesterday afternoon. She left home at that time saying she was headed for her local walmart near Aynor South Carolina..I don't know the exact town...maybe conroe or something? She never made it to walmart. Survaliance tapes show she never went in there. She withdrew some money from the bank locally. She put gas in her car at the north carolina / south carolina state line (cherry creek). She withdrew a BUNCH of money in Raliegh Durham North Carolina. She spoke to her daughter at 4:30 saying she was going christmas shopping and that she would be late. But she never made it home.

If she had any inclinations to leave home, she never indicated it, and she would NOT be heading NORTH!!

She is 5'7 inches tall, LONG legs, 150 lbs, has very short medium brown hair. lots of freckels, hazel eyes. Driving a Dark Blue BMW 4 door with a mini antennea on the driver's side on the post between the door and the windshield, licence plate # 845HLG

My brother in law is former military police. He made a call to the police and is tracking bank usage which is showing itself to be very abnormal such as numerous attempts to use the various cards but rejects due to wrong pin numbers. He's requested survalance tapes from the banks as well. She was supposed to go to walmart, but walmart survaliance tapes show she never made it there. So, hes compiling stuff to show that something IS very wrong.

Also, she talked to her daughter AFTER one of the cash drafts and said someting weird to her daughter...like I love you...and she NEVER says that to THAT daughter.

Anyway, I didn't want to put all this on the boards...

This is too weird.

The trials have been separated and moved to May. The first one will be May 10 and both are expected to last six weeks.

Basham cut his wrist before his pre-trial hearing.

Just checking in to see what has been happening. I didn't know the trial had been rescheduled for May. May was a blur as one of my kids graduated and we had family here for two weeks. I'll probably try to go search for some news.

Not sure where things are now, but over a month ago, this happened. Fulks advised that he would enter a guilty plea to all charges, then entered a statement that was quite short of the mark. The article quotes Barry Donovan speculating that Fulks may have been trying to "sneak the statement through" to dodge the death penalty.

Yes, we are all still here after more than 1 1/2 years. More aware of our surroundings, telling our children what to do in case something were to happen. Now needing to also tell them to make sure they lock their doors while driving so no one can jump in.

I'm sorry, but Fulks and Basham ARE monsters. And yea, it's sad that they had a rotten upbringing. But lots of people grow up with alcoholic or abusive parents or parents that fight and don't go out and commit the kind of crimes they did. I know several and am one myself. We've had struggles and problems but something else makes people do what they did. It's just plain evil. Demonic, even. Saddam Hussein had a horrible upbringing, too...SO WHAT? He's a mass murderer and psychopath and enjoyed the pain and death he inflicted on people. He also deserves the death penalty.

We make our own choices and must suffer the consequences.

They argued that the statement of one defendant could unfairly implicate the other in the crime if the men were tried together.

Why does this sound to me like they are actually just betting that the jury will maybe just come down really hard on just one of them instead of both? I find it hard to understand how they are gonna keep bringing up a second party to the entire crime spree they took without somehow causing a conflict of intrest or something.

It seems hard to believe it has been over a year since I posted on this thread soon after it broke on FR. I remember waking up early just hoping that SOMETHING had happened, that Alice had been found.

PrairieLady, you have been much in my prayers both then AND now. For your shining spirit, your depth of compassion, and your immense integrity, I commend you.

I remember the early days of this thread, Sandy, and alexandria got it right about the local authorities not responding quickly enough to suit the family.

Slight correction there Devil, they were not responding quickly enough for ME!!
I remember the frustration in thinking, they have multiple cash ATM withdrawls, the tape from Wal Mart, AND a vechicle/plate number. All this and there has not been some intense heat down those radio wires? SHEESH!!

Can someone help me out as to the location of the Honey Bee Hunting Lodge? I know what city but there is no listing for it to map it. For some reason there is something bugging me about the various locations given that the two suspects took and her not being found.
I am trying to triangulate all the areas but that one sighting by the witness that says he saw two men and a woman in Alice's car by the hunting lodge is the area that is up in the air. Is there a ping list for this thread? If so I want on it.

Place would be Winnabow as indicated below. Also, do these two areas seem to jive as being the same location or not?

Two of the last people to see Donovan testified Tuesday that they saw a woman and two men in the blue BMW near Bee Tree Hunting Club (also called Honeybee Farms in one article) in the Winnabow area of Brunswick County, N.C.

The two eventually stopped on a road off S.C. 90, where Basham took Donovan into a wooded area and then returned later (implies alone), Fulks said in the statement.

Here's my take on this. It has been said that witnesses saw the two men with Alice in her car near the above mentioned location. Then later the car was seen again but with the two men only. Now, it could be that they just didn't see Alice the 3rd time and have thereby convinced themselves that, indeed, she was NOT there. However, LE seems to have narrowed this area as the place to search.
It is said that Fulks has went with LE to help locate the body without success. Taking into consideration those two statements I find it highly unlikely that with a narrowed down area and a helpful perp in tow they have not found her.
Therefore, it is my conclusion that Fulks has not "forgotten" where this occurred but is trying to conceal WHERE it occurred.

Why? Why not tell them where she is since you have already confessed? You have to that know LE is pushing the tell us where she is and the jury might be lenient crap, so why?

Reason #1 He was somewhere that if known would implicate him in another crime or more likely #2 He does not want to implicate someone else.

I think if they track down the crack dealer & friends they might find Alice in one of their backyards. After all, I have not heard even ONE time that they are looking anywhere but the woods for her.

Another request, what city/state is the trial being held? Any chance for transcripts?

Brunswick County, NC. Nope, that would be a little far away from me to check. The trial though is being held in federal court in Columbia, SC.

I think someone told me that Alice's sister is Pistol Packin Mama. She can probably help you with your questions. Also, Velveeta was on top of this from the start. Living sort of locally, I watched news on this case from the beginning, but didn't learn of this thread until there were thousands of posts, so I'm not as informed as some.

Police say he and Basham abducted Alice Donovan on Nov. 14, 2002, from the Wal-Mart parking lot in Conway, then dumped her body.

The way this reads, the abduction caused her death, not a gunshot or a club or anything else. Why do they phrase it so?
