I have recently discovered that most of the mexicans that are determined NOT to learn english are so stubborn because they can't read or write even in their own native language!

Many have never been to school at all ---it's not really their fault because it's the way things are in Mexico, but it'll take a lot of taxpayer money to correct the problems and get them caught up. Some will work hard and climb into middle class quickly but many will just become generations of welfare class people never able to get out of the housing projects, we see both kinds here but more and more it's the permanent welfare types coming over because they've learned that single motherhood will get them more handouts so they seem to be choosing that route.

You are correct. Even a mediocre software engineer from India has at least a decent basic education, so even if he washes out of high tech he will probably find a middle class standard of living somehow, and it is a safe bet he will kick his kids' asses to be successful. This is a stark contrast to most illegals.

Immigration is not the problem, but loads of uneducated immigrants from Mexico and other points south are a huge problem. These illegals cost a lot and don't add to this country very much (some certainly do, but on aggregate, they are a big drain).
