Alexa McDonough of the NDP told the House that Powell's "so-called evidence" proved nothing. Her party's position is that nothing justifies war against Iraq. Un-freeping-believable. OK, chick, just make sure that when Muslim terrorists thank Canada for their porous borders by setting off a dirty bomb in downtown Toronto, you stand up and say that "nothing" justifies war against them.
BTW...Alexa, you'd be one of the first ones lined up against the wall and shot once they implemented sharia in the Islamic Republic of Canada. Of course Islamists can't have women in positions of political power.
None are so blind as those that refuse to see.

At some point soon the inspectors will have to decide to leave or stay around for the bombing and such. Is Saddam planning to have them for hostages? That would be interesting.
My solution would be for the US to airdrop small arms including handguns and ammunition for the Iraqi people and non-Republican Guard military to use. Not enough has been made of the fact that the Iraqis have no 2nd Amendment rights. Saddam rules because he disarmed the people as did the Taliban in Afganistan.

Imad Khadduri, a former Iraqi nuclear scientist who immigrated to Canada in 1999 and works as a college computer instructor in Toronto was equally skeptical. Better keep an eye on this guy. He left Iraq yet apparently still supports the government there. Sounds a bit suspicious.

"Colin Powell is asking us all to take quite a big leap of faith ... to believe these assertions are proof that Iraq is producing weapons of mass destruction"
I find it quite insulting that these countries are so hesitant to "believe" us... when is the last time we colonized ANYBODY. Why the h*** would we make this UP???
What's worse is that some liberals admit that he's got the weapons, but insist containment will work.... while others insist there is no way of knowing.... while others couldn't care either way and America is just a big bully out to steal everyone's oil...
I can't wait until we finally just DO IT and people can stop slamming Bush from every made-up direction they can dream up...

"Canada will await further word from the inspectors themselves before deciding whether to join the United States in any military response." OH NO!!! How shall we ever defeat Iraq without the presence of the mighty Canadian Legions at our side?

When the West finally dies, it will happen in Canada first.
What the hell is wrong with these people?

"But, Graham added, Canada will await the decision of the council later this month before deciding on a course of action. "In other words, Canadians are
A. Too stupid to decide.
B. Too pathetic too decide.
C. Too cowardly too decide.
D. We let others make our decisions for us.
F. All of the Above.
Count me as one vote for F, as in F for Canada.

"We need to give that inspection system a last chance, maybe one, maybe two, over a couple of weeks,"... Just what does this guy think a "last chance" is anyway? It's oxymoronic (and just plain moronic) to talk about giving more than one "last chance".
But more to the point, last fall, Resolution 1441 clearly stated that it was Hussein's last chance to come clean. So any talk of another "last chance" is utter stupidity.
I guess, for these people, it also depends on what the meaning of "last" is. Bill Clinton, claim your minions.

Cowards! Unmitigated cowards... One can only wonder what ever happened to our so-called friends north of the border... Going French I suspect... No wonder the western provinces want out!

I suspect that Canada, France and others are dithering around until it's too late to send ground troops to participate in ground action in Iraq.
I further suspect it's because they are not prepared to cope with a battlefield environment which is likely to include bio/chem weapoins being used against your troops.
I expect Canada to provide occupation troops after the fighting is over.
That's OK with me.
What frosts my cajones is that we aren't getting any moral or diplomatic support from Ottawa.
