Members of the Maine National Guard, called up to prepare for an attack on Iraq, have asserted that their children are being harassed at school by teachers who oppose the war.

Guard members say their children are "coming home upset, depressed, crying," said Maj. Peter Rogers, a spokesman for the Maine National Guard. "This was based on some incidents that were happening in school, both in the classroom and on the playground."

Following email sent to duke.albanese@state.me.us:

"Teachers who are taunting children of Maine National Guard members should be dismissed immediately and charges of child abuse filed against them. I have written my US senators and suggested federal funds be withdrawn immediately from those schools."

Mine to the Educrats in Maine: I just finished reading what some Maine teachers are doing to ABUSE the childrenn of the Maine Guard unit who are defending America. Who lay their lives on the line to defend the FREEDOM of these IDIOT teachers.

When are you going to discipline these teachers by REMOVING them from the class room where they can CAUSE NO MORE HARM TO CHILDREN.

THIS IS CHILD ABUSE!

US Citizen and a Mom of three,

Hey, keep sounding the call! I keep wondering what it is going to take for people to finally wake up and realize public schooling is not our friend.

Parents out there that think their district somehow is different I challenge you to check more carefully with your children what is actually being said in the classroom, the papers being brought home, and take a good hard look at the textbooks they are using---and NOT using. Very often they have textbooks and then rarely get though them in the school year.

"What we're hearing is that some of the educators are talking about the possible war in Iraq being unethical and that those who would fight it are unethical

It's very unethical for teachers to blame 7 year olds for problems in the world and lay a nasty guilt trip on them because their parents are patriots and service personnel. These so called "teachers" should be exposed by name AFTER being terminated from their teaching positions. That way, when they show up at another school, parents will know.

A few weeks back when the protest marches started, I posted a picture of a student and a teacher making protest signs in class. LIBERALISM is epidemic in our schools. Then they go to college and have terrorists as professors.

e-mail sent:

"Those who are guilty of anti-military hate speech in government schools need to be dismissed immediately. For too long have these anti-American "educators" used their positions to poison childrens' minds against their own country.

I thank God my daughter is grown and not a witness to such filth. It is time someone takes a stand and let it be known to government educators throughout the country that there will be zero-tolerance for anti-America statements in classrooms.

These "teachers" need to keep their opinions to themselves or make fools of themselves out on the streets with others of their ilk, but in no way must this be brought into the classroom."

Maybe this story will develop some REAL legs now!

You wanted legs? You got legs! Drudge has this WT's article up, WND has its own story on it and....Rush just mentioned it and says he'll have more when he comes back from the top of the hour break. : )

This story is moving now. Look for Hannity to get with it this afternoon.

This Crap Really Pisses Me Off! I am strongly against the war on Iraq, but I would NEVER presume to attack the children of military families, nor be so crass as to join a demonstration in front of a military base.

The military has a job to do, and does it on orders of the civilian government. My problem lies with the politicians.

The POS Teachers have a job to do, and they aren't doing it. They get paid the same (from taxes) as the military, but they have the unmitigated gall to assume that they are somehow superior, yet they are attacking the children they are supposed to be teaching! We should shut down gov't schools and return the responsibility for children to their parents.

Nucluside said "I think charges should be brought against them". Well, of course criminal charges are in order, but a major class action lawsuit with massive compensatory & punitive damages from every single one of these child-abusing freaks should also be pursued POSHASTE! Get 'em where they live.Put 'em in jail but also take 'em for everything they own. TODAY!

"...a single class action lawsuit..."

You are right, of course. Standards of proof are generally easier to prove in a civil case, as in O.J. Simpson
I can only speak for one military kid, but a lot of the time before departure is reassuring the children that everything is going to be OK. Then the mother reinforces this with the children every day. No one in the family mentions it, but it's on everyone's mind very often that maybe Dad won't come back.
Those hypocritical liberals sanction stealing our money and restricting our freedoms because "it's for the children" and then they turn around and terrorize children. Those twinks in Maine BETTER do something about this. Teachers' child abuse is no more acceptable than anyone else's.

You got that right

I love my little girl more than anything in this world.
I remember how when I was in the military how much I missed my family and friends, and that was when I was younger single and without children.
If I were still in that situation and called home to talk to my child and I heard "My teacher says your a baby killer and people shouldn't like you" or some such I would seriously find them when I got back stateside and bust their head wide open.
