I'm glued to the computer and to Fox News, too... the urge to keep up with what's going on is natural, and we all want to see the villain get his comeuppance. One reacts physically to such scenes in movies--at least I do when I watch Kindergarten Cop (hey, I liked it...) and Die Hard--but this is real life, and if there's a plot it's not neat. Winning is more important than flash, just as the "boring" positional strategists have succeeded the flashy grandmasters of the 19th century in chess. If boredom is the price of winning at least cost, then by all means bore the heck out of us all!

The TV Saddam didn't look like Saddam to me for the following reasons:

1) I couldn't find the mole on his cheek which is situated on his left cheek near his left nostril;

2) His hair was too grayish; and

3) the real Saddam would have more fire in his eyes and wouldn't have to read from notes.

Blitzkrieg or lightning war was a euphamism for heavily mechanized war with combined air and land attacks. This is now a part of modern warfare.

Shock and awe refers to a political will to use a "Show" of overwhelming force- unlike carpet bombing campaign of Vietnam which just bombed indiscriminately. ( Overlord, Rolling Thunder, Arclight)

Isreal to their credit has always used their small, well trained, armed forces decisively against superior numbers. Not Blitzkrieg, but definately a swift and determined use of force free of the confines of political correctness.

Also, Saddam is a "peacock" and that uniform he had on last night did not fit him correctly - besides, his beret was crooked. The uniform was all bunched up just below the shoulders, as if it was either too big, or he was slouched down in the chair he was sitting in.

Didn't think it was him last night and haven't changed my mind.
