Testimony last Thursday at a closed-door hearing before the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee has revealed the growing worry of the threat that commercial planes face to shoulder fired surface to air missiles.

According to Gary Burns, a spokesperson for the Committee’s Chairman John Mica (R-FL), the Bush Administration has become increasingly concerned about the threat civilian airliners face from the missiles that are in the hands of terrorists across the world, including al Qaeda.

Last November, the Bush Administration convened a working group made up of intelligence, law enforcement and other experts, as well as members of the National Security Council to study the threat and to “develop a threat assessment and propose technical responses to the threat,” Burns said.

“Congressman Mica came to the hearing very skeptical about the threat that shoulder fired missiles presented to civil aviation in the U.S. and after the closed door hearing, was shocked at what he heard.” Burns added.

Well, if they can get as close as that picture, then yeah, I think there's a problem!

Mica should ask the FAA why it silenced the Long Island technicians who picked up clear images of a missle hitting TWA 800 on the new radar they were installing.

Yeah, right. Like they would be more forthcoming than they were 10 years ago.....

"It was an accident, get over it."

Lee Harvey Oswald was the only shooter, there was no Waco cover-up by Reno/Clinton, and there was no Middle East connection/additional perps to the OKC Bombing.

Thanks michael...I feel better now.

It was an accident, get over it.

There is considerable doubt at the moment.

"It was an accident, get over it. "

Kinda vague here, aren't you? If you are going to tell others what to do, you need to be more specific in your statement.

TWA 800 echo.

Cover-ups are ugly, Congressman.

We've lost a decade to defend America because of XXX42 and his accomplices in the House, Senate, and on the bench. Bill's coprophages were too busy to look around.

Here, let's not count Bill & Hillary's Poliburo treasonous trade of our crown jewel W-88 et al. for mere illegal campaign chump change.

TWA pilots were the best around and many of them agreed that TWA 800 was no accident.

I always find it funny when I am called a tinfoil hatter.

The most corrupt politician to play President kept what REALLY happened from the public, mainly to cover his ass and hide the fact he was ineffective at dealing with hostile nations, unless it involved giving them our country's secrets in trade for campaign cash, controlled the media, the FAA, and the airlines ........ and even though all of this is known fact, you call anyone that doesn't accept the impossible center wing tank theory as true a tin-hatter.

Now, if they said a UFO crashed into flight 800, I might have reason to agree with you. And I think most of us don't accept this new small plane theory at all.
