'MATRIX CRITICS? **** 'EM' |
![](/x/x.gif) |
Matrix Reloaded star Laurence Fishburne turned the air blue live on Sky News when he was interviewed at the UK premiere of the blockbuster film.
Fishburne, who plays the mack-clad Morpheus, was asked by Sky's Matt Smith what he thought about the critical response to the sci-fi thriller.
The star raised his middle finger and launched into a four-letter tirade before walking away with security staff.
Although the film, which stars Keanu Reeves, has been hailed as the film of the year, some critics say the movie does not match the original, which has become a worldwide phenomenon.
'Pretty extraordinary'
Hundreds of fans braved pouring rain to catch a glimpse of the film's stars in Leicester Square.
Reeves was joined on the red carpet by co-stars Laurence Fishburne, Hugo Weaving, Jada Pinkett-Smith and twins Neil and Adrian Rayment, the film's most unlikely stars.
He was more polite when asked about how the film's frenzied reception.
"It is pretty extraordinary," he told Sky News.
"It's great to be part of it. It does not happen very often."
He kept screaming fans happy by signing autographs and posing for pictures.
Cannes
Last week the most hyped movie release of the year dazzled crowds at Cannes with its European premiere.
The Matrix party was one of the hottest tickets of the festival, with a lavish £2m bash laid on for the stars.
Matrix Reloaded took a record $93m in its first weekend at US cinemas, the second-biggest opening of all time behind Spider-Man.
Warner Bros is reported to have spent $300m (£187m) on making the two follow-ups.

Really? Well, I find it more offensive that people pay money to watch these goats.

"You tell em, Laurence."
I agree! Take that you fuddy duds!!!
Anyway I would pay money just to see Keanu Reeves in his cool sunglasses and long black coat. If you look up the word cool in the dictionary, underneath it is a picture of Neo in his glasses and coat (with the guns.) I love the Matrix series. I love the marshal arts fighting, the plot, the costumes, the eye candy. It's good escapist entertainment.

Millions of Christians disagree with you.
Millions of
millennialist Christians disagree with me. But then they
also disagree with the revelation of St. John the oh-so-utterly Divine, the so-called book of Revelations. So I stand in good company.
The millennialists sort of wrote their own New Testament, a neo-Grrr-nostic version, all light and darkness and cosmic pyrotechnics. Who can blame them? These are tough times. The truth requires a firmer commitment than many can give.

Dude. The apocalypse got canceled. Lack of interest etc. The Father, Son, and Holy Ghost all caught the last train for the coast etc. Settle in and make the best of it. LOL. Watch out or you'll end up in the lake of fire.

the so-called book of Revelations. I find it laughable when someone claims to be an expert and then calls the Revelation (in the singular, you'll notice) of Jesus Christ into the book of Revelations. Feel free to post on the subject after you buy enough of a clue to at least get the title of the book right.

Saw the film yesterday, and was bored to tears all the way through. Awful film. Hated to have to look at that masculine appearing girl throughout the movie. And the worst was any dialogue, like second rate minds trying to
pull-off a sham pretense of erudition. An insult to one's intelligence all the way through.
Fishburne used to live in the building across from me in Venice, California called "The Waldorf". I used to see him around the neighborhood sometimes. After he made some
Ike and Tina bio, he got too popular to live on the crowded boardwalk. Glad someone from the old neighborhood is doing so well for themselves in the film industry.

Ahhh... but see if the film is popular and you say you thought it stunk, then you get to be the "one above it all". Puh-leez... the film kicked serious butt. Does anyone on this thread even understand the concept of escapist film??? Keanu was hot. He may be big and stupid, but he was hot. And I'm sure that all the men on this thread who are complaining also thought that Monica Belluci was an eyesore (yeah, right...). That was after they lost their eyeballs in her cleavage.

As a BIG fan of the first, I have to say the second was a serious disappointment.
3 set-pieces surrounded by gobbledy-gook.
This was no Two Towers which I found way less disappointing than this.
However, I think it rates with The Phantom Menace for sheer BS and Attack of the Clones for horrendous dialog.
I may be willing to revise and extend after seeing Revolutions, since it's really 1 movie split into 2.

lol! Exactly!! They are trying to sound like Matrix is just not cool enough for them because they are soooooo waaaayyy cool. Ha!! It not possible to be cooler than Matrix. LOL! It is the epitome of cool.

Those two, Monica and Keanu are the very definition of the BEAUTIFUL people. Keanu is a work of art in the flesh and so is she. I mean that not in a sexy way, even though they are both sexy. I love to watch them do the marshal arts in same way I like to watch ballet. And they work at doing that and being fit. They are dedicated. They are fine performers and it was really fun movie. I am going to buy all three DVD's. And I don't think Keanu is stupid at all. He seems very intelligent and stable to me. I never hear any scandal about him. I don't know why people say that about him. I LOVED him in the Devil's Advocate. He is the best looking man alive! IMHO!

I thought the movie rocked!!!
I still think both LOTR's flicks were WAY better though.
It's going to be a very entertaining end of the year movie fest though as we'll have the last Matrix flick and the bound to be awesome, Return of the King.
Assuming we aren't all swimming in a lake of fire before then, of course!
To: AdamSelene235
The first flick was shallow Th first movie was one of the best 100 films ever made. Get a new pair of glasses.
