Found this on the web:
Expectations (prognosis) Return to top
Aortic dissection is life-threatening. The likelihood of death within the first 48 hours is 1% per hour for untreated patients. The disorder is curable with surgical repair if it is performed before aortic rupture. Less than half of patients with ruptured aorta survive.

>>You know what's weird? The voice of Caillou, a PBS kid's show, also died this week. She was a 17-year-old girl killed in a car crash with her friend.<<
Wow, is that a fact?? No matter how annoying Caillou is, my kids love him.
Maybe it's some kind of curse ;-)

What surprised me is how aortic aneurisms can be so prevalent in the same family because of a genetic flaw. When my stepmother's younger brothers both died of it,(and not that far apart) the other siblings went to be tested. My stepmother and another of her brothers were shown test results proving they are also ticking time bombs with the same potential for sudden death. Two sisters had the tests but the results were negative.

My three year old woke up about 8:30 this morning. The first thing he said was, "I want to watch Clifford's Puppy Days." I thought that was weird that he would ask such a thing and told him he could watch Clifford in an hour. While my children watched the end of the Clifford show I checked my e-mail and was shocked to find out John Ritter was dead.
I am terribly saddened the world has lost such a nice man. But, our loss is Heaven's gain.

Isn't anyone gonna mention his performance of Buffy the Vampire Slayer?
Look back earlier in the discussion, mention was made.

I can't believe John Ritter is dead -- what a loss.
TV Land still runs it the middle of the night at about 3AM so the people coming home from bars and nights out can watch, I bet it gets 'cult' type ratings against infomericals..
FWIW, I work nights and watch Three's Company every night when I come home from work. It's classic TV!

Apparently, he took a nap and told Henry Winkler (the fonz) that he was still tired. So, he was already experiencing blood pressure problems.
Too bad nobody called 9-11 and they drove him to the hospital but it might not have saved him anyway. I'm surprised that networks don't have doctors on staff at the studios. Maybe I am clueless but I'd think it would be prudent to have medical staff at the studios. It might not have helped JR but in other situations.

My younger brother sold CHRISSY a refrigerator post-Three's Company in Las Vegas. Yes, even celebrities buy appliances. Now Somers is always in Tampa Bay selling her own product line on the Home Shopping Network. She did a good job of marketing herself post-Three's Company.

My wife and I were discussing the T.V. movie in which L. Frank Baum, author of the book, "The Wizard of OZ," was portrayed by John Ritter.
It was based on the true story of how the book was written and how Baum didn't think anyone would be interested in publishing his book. It was a good movie and Ritter was excellent in the movie. I forgot the title of the T.V. movie.

You missed a gay wedding today on the Bravo network between a Jewish guy and a Christian guy. I accidentally surfed past when they kissed the groom, well, uh, cuz there was no bride. Bravo is the gay network, IMO.
I'm not gay bashing but the activist element of that lifestyle is OVER PROMOTING GAYNESS. It's boring.

My favorite rerun is still Leave it to Beaver. I'll be really bummed the day something happens to Wally or the Beav. Anybody know what Wally and Beav or Eddie Haskell are up to these days?

I was stunned to hear the news this morning.
I agree that he was an excellent actor.
His work on Three's Company was hysterical and I thought he was very good in Slingblade.
Very sad indeed.

Anybody know what Wally and Beav or Eddie Haskell are up to these days? Eddie Haskell (or the actor who played him rather) was on Rush's Show a couple of years ago.
He was objecting to Rush calling someone an "Eddie Haskell" He said that Eddie Haskell was never that bad.

Aren't you glad you watched his bio even though it didn't have any particular meaning last night? I'm not sure he left his first wife for Amy Y.
Seems like the first wife left him a long time ago and Yasbeck came along later. Am I totally wrong on that? The little girl, it was her birthday yesterday. Can you imagine? And, she looks just like mom, Amy with the long, wavy hair.

I guess we all have to grow old. She doesn't look that bad...she is nearly 50.
To: alloysteel
John Ritter was much younger than I am. That just gives a person the cold willies. If your over 50, your living on luck. The graveyards are full of people that were 50 and under, that died suddenly, fast, dead before they hit the floor.
