My wife saw her Thoracic Surgeon yesterday and he gave her the bad news that she has a small cancerous tumor in her right lung and he will be operating on her this coming Monday to remove it. The PET scan didn't show any spreading to other parts of her body other than the larynx which may be physiologic. He will be removing the whole upper lobe of the three that she has in the right lung to make sure he gets all the cancer. No chemo or radiation if he does that. The type of cancer is called Neuroendocrine. He will be inserting a tube down her throat and into her lung, first, to determine if it has possibly spread to that area since the PET scan DID show some activity there. If he finds cancer there, he said he would abort the operation and go with the chemo and radiation. If he does not find cancer in that area, he will continue on with the operation. I am praying he won’t find any cancer in that area since just the removal of the upper lobe that contains the tumor will give her at least a 90% chance of full recovery. I hate to see her have to go through the chemo or radiation which has a much less chance of recovery.
To top it off, I've come down with the shingles. Probably from stress over the past month of her taking CT, PET and biopsy test and other test. I have been in constant prayer for her but watching her go through all that she is going through has taken a toll on me
Please pray for my wife of 41 blissful married years to me. She has endured so many illnesses in the last 11 years and now she is facing the Big one.

My grandfather had lung surgery. He came out of it rather well. He was 75 at the time. He is 85 now.

Both of my parents recently concluded serious cancer treatment and came through everything 100% so keep your chin up. Modern cancer medicine is so amazing that I’m sure everything will go great.
