IF you're wearing the scapular you're trusting what the apparition said. There's really no other reason to wear the idolatrous thing.

And if you are wearing it....well, that's not a Christian thing.

It is, in fact, somewhat close to the false protestant belief of "once saved, always saved", the only difference being that you have to wear the scapular (as some believe) to assure yourself of salvation.

Yet, those were the instructions from the apparition....that to be delivered from the hell-fire you had to wear the thing...among others.

. The Blessed Virgin assigned certain conditions which must be fulfilled:

1.Wear the Brown Scapular continuously.

2.Observe chastity according to one’s state in life (married/single).

3.Recite daily the Little Office of the Blessed Virgin OR Observe the fasts of the Church together with abstaining from meat on Wednesdays and Saturdays OR With permission of a priest, say five decades of Our Lady’s Most Holy Rosary OR With permission of a priest, substitute some other good work.

*****

It is a penitential sacramental--something that's slightly irritating to wear to remind you that you are a Christian, you should act like one, and that suffering is your lot.

Wow....the sad life of Roman Catholicism.

Jesus said “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly. John 10:10 NASB 95

Note the first part....the thief....that's the message of the apparition.

Jesus said “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly. John 10:10 NASB 95. Note the first part....the thief....that's the message of the apparition.

You literally have no clue. As in zero. You corrupt the meaning of Jesus to fit your own personal interpretation. The "abundant life" Jesus speaks of is not of this world. Note that Our Lord also said:

"Blessed are ye when they shall revile you, and persecute you, and speak all that is evil against you, untruly, for my sake: Be glad and rejoice, for your reward is very great in heaven." [Matthew 5:5:]

In Luke's version, is added: "Woe to you when everyone speaks well of you, for that is how their ancestors treated the false prophets."

In John 16:33, He said: "In the world you shall have distress: but have confidence, I have overcome the world."

That's not the "sad life of Roman Catholicism". That is the lot of the Christian and has been since the beginning. If you think that you can create a worldly paradise and live safe and happy therein, you are not a Christian. In fact, you are contradicting the words of Christ. You are no better than the false prophets.

My life is comparatively comfortable. I wear the brown scapular as a reminder that suffering is the calling of the Christian. If you don't think so, I would encourage you to read what Saint Paul endured for the sake of the Gospel.
