The Vatican’s doctrine office will publish a new document next week on discerning Marian apparitions and other supernatural events.

The Holy See Press Office announced on Tuesday that Cardinal Víctor Manuel Fernández, the prefect of the Dicastery for the Doctrine of the Faith (DDF), will unveil new norms for discernment regarding “apparitions and other supernatural phenomena” on Friday, May 17.

In an interview with the National Catholic Register, CNA’s sister news partner, last month, Fernandez said that the document will provide “clear guidelines and norms” for discernment.

The new norms will be the first time that the Vatican’s doctrinal office has issued a general document on apparitions in four decades. Pope Paul VI approved norms on “the discernment of presumed apparitions or revelations” in 1978.

"Shady as it is." Your statement not mine or the Church of Jesus Christ.

THE ARTICLES OF FAITH
OF THE CHURCH OF JESUS CHRIST OF LATTER-DAY SAINTS
History of the Church, Vol. 4, pp. 535—541

  1. We believe in God, the Eternal Father, and in His Son, Jesus Christ, and in the Holy Ghost.
  2. We believe that men will be punished for their own sins, and not for Adam's transgression.
  3. We believe that through the Atonement of Christ, all mankind may be saved, by obedience to the laws and ordinances of the Gospel.
  4. We believe that the first principles and ordinances of the Gospel are: first, Faith in the Lord Jesus Christ; second, Repentance; third, Baptism by immersion for the remission of sins; fourth, Laying on of hands for the gift of the Holy Ghost.
  5. We believe that a man must be called of God, by prophecy, and by the laying on of hands by those who are in authority, to preach the Gospel and administer in the ordinances thereof.
  6. We believe in the same organization that existed in the Primitive Church, namely, apostles, prophets, pastors, teachers, evangelists, and so forth.
  7. We believe in the gift of tongues, prophecy, revelation, visions, healing, interpretation of tongues, and so forth.
  8. We believe the Bible to be the word of God as far as it is translated correctly; we also believe the Book of Mormon to be the word of God.
  9. We believe all that God has revealed, all that He does now reveal, and we believe that He will yet reveal many great and important things pertaining to the Kingdom of God.
  10. We believe in the literal gathering of Israel and in the restoration of the Ten Tribes; that Zion (the New Jerusalem) will be built upon the American continent; that Christ will reign personally upon the earth; and, that the earth will be renewed and receive its paradisiacal glory.
  11. We claim the privilege of worshiping Almighty God according to the dictates of our own conscience, and allow all men the same privilege, let them worship how, where, or what they may.
  12. We believe in being subject to kings, presidents, rulers, and magistrates, in obeying, honoring, and sustaining the law.
  13. We believe in being honest, true, chaste, benevolent, virtuous, and in doing good to all men; indeed, we may say that we follow the admonition of Paul—We believe all things, we hope all things, we have endured many things, and hope to be able to endure all things. If there is anything virtuous, lovely, or of good report or praiseworthy, we seek after these things.

Again when you believe other sources with an axe to grind you may just be conveniently deceived.

Just which non-LDS 'other sources' do you have in mind?

I see...

Galatians 1:6-9 KJV

6. I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel:
7. Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ.
8. But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.
9. As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.

Here is what J. Smith revised from the KJV bible:

The Pearl of Great Price contain (1) excerpts from Joseph Smith’s translation of Genesis, called the book of Moses, and of Matthew 24, called Joseph Smith—Matthew

No mention of an Inspired Version' here: https://www.churchofjesuschrist.org/study/manual/translations-and-downloads?lang=eng
I guess those mysterious 'errors' are just gonna have to be accepted into the LDS members mind without any identification of them.

Good luck guys - as you're in the same boat with us Pro..., uh, Gentiles.

We believe the Bible to be the word of God as far as it is translated correctly; we also believe the Book of Mormon to be the word of God.

That’s it?

Speaking of deceptions.

Of all twelve, that would be the least concerning of all.

...and yet he persists.

How many do you really take issue with?

All of them. They have skin in the game. In other words, the “business” of religion might lose to the truth.

No mention of an Inspired Version’ here:

...and you know why, as you have belabored the point repeatedly.

You should also know just how much of the Bible was or in this case, was not part of the “written out word-for-word” as part of the translation.

“in the same boat with us Pro..., uh, Gentiles.” I’m not sure I would exactly put it the way you did, but when it comes to Gentiles, there is much in prophecy in the Book of Mormon related and we are indeed in that boat.

Did you just mention COFFEE?

I was once a faithful Mormon.

Royalty even.

BIC of the best of them.

Then one day I woke up and smelled - COFFEE!

It allured me; tempted me, teased me like Luck with a sore ankle.

I tried resisting.

I overcame the Little Factory; SURELY I could over come THIS!!

I prayed, I fasted, I even spoke in TONGUES mind you.

But; in the end; I fell.

Fell to the charms and wiles of a simple bean.

A bean; when roasted, ground and saturated with water; will produce one of the vilest liquids that Satan ever devised!

How many missionaries had to return because of this product from Hell?

How many bishops: fallen??

How many stake presidents: ruined?

Only eternity knows.

BEWARE!!!

Beware...

beware...…

I know - I know...

Just consider it the result of a squandered youth - never getting to spend a year knocking on stranger's doors - never being able to talk about the FULLNESS of the gospel without really understanding it.

So; here I am today, trying to knock on the doors of unseen people's hearts with a few words of history and various scriptures from various sources.

Woe is me!

What shall be my end?

Hey, you are living history as part of prophecy in Scripture. All you have to do is figure out if you are part of the problem or the solution.

Where can I find this data in Scripture?

“What was wonderful is — every one of the Twelve had had their eyes on this. The First Presidency has read it completely. And this is really the book that the Savior has really put his stamp on.” — Young Women General President Bonnie H. Cordon

'Tis a mighty bold statement!

Second Edition of ‘Preach My Gospel’ Is Now Available (churchofjesuschrist.org)

The second edition of Preach My Gospel is available online to everyone in the Gospel Library app in English, French, Portuguese and Spanish.

(Would I be corect in assuming that 'everyone' means Mormons Only?   - even those with no Temple Recommend card?)

“Preach My Gospel is a key resource for missionaries, but Latter-day Saints should remember that every member of the Church is a missionary, and some of our choicest converts are found within the walls of our own home,” said Sister Amy A. Wright, first counselor in the Primary general presidency and a member of the Missionary Executive Council.

—who am I to judge?

Sigh...

Jesus has commanded us to judge!

"Dare any of you, having a matter against another, go to law before the unrighteous, and not before the saints? Do you not know that the saints will judge the world?... And if the world will be judged by you, are you unworthy to judge the smallest matters?... Do you not know that we shall judge angels?... How much more, things that pertain to this life?.. If then you have judgments concerning things pertaining to this life, do you appoint those who are least esteemed by the church to judge ? (1 Corinthians 6:1-5)

Many commands of God require the exercise of righteous judgment.

"But we command you, brethren, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you withdraw from every brother who walks disorderly and not according to the tradition which he received from us" (2 Thessalonians 3:6)

"Now I urge you, brethren, note those who cause divisions and offenses, contrary to the doctrine which you learned, and avoid them. For those who are such do not serve our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly, and by smooth words and flattering speech deceive the hearts of the simple" (Romans 16:17,18)

"Do not judge according to appearance, but judge with righteous judgment."  (John 7:24)

Then there’s Matthew 7:1.

And in the Divine Comedy, admittedly basically Catholic Science Fiction . . .

Dante sticks five Popes in Hell-—one of whom ended up being canonized.
