The Neverending Story
An ongoing debate on Scripture, Tradition, History and Interpretation.

Statesmen may plan and speculate for liberty, but it is religion and morality alone which can establish the principles upon which freedom can securely stand. The only foundation of a free constitution is pure virtue. - John Adams

What happens when you "add" a negative number to the base yield?

The bank has to pay me to take their money? ;o)

You can buy individual mortgages (actually somewhat riskier than stocks if you think about it).

How come, don't you have the property to take back if they fail?

I realize this web page will be addressing two audiences: those of you who read this page before the rapture and the those of you who read it after the rapture. My focus here will be on those of you who have found this page after the rapture of the Church.

Well, I guess we found it!! :o)

Have you been reading Hal Lindsay again?

You should read John Noe's "Beyond the End Times" book. It contains many of the false prophecies of this man. Why Christians throw the rules governing a prophet out the window for these dooms-dayers I will never know.

False premise? This from a guy who's eschatology is based on false premises of the past. First go buy a clue about what has already happened, then come back here and we'll talk about the future, OK?

He means his posts on what "Torah" is, not interpretation of the Torah. That is, it means "teachings" or "instructions" more so than "law". Steven posted several articles on this yesterday.

Thanks. I looked under some of the lengthy posts, but didn't see a clear definition of Torah.

Just page back--there haven't been that many posts the past few days.

Is everyone on vacation, or is this thread finally winding down?

They make merchandise out of the word of God. Good to see you again, Nate.

This website has a small online book called "Torah Rediscovered" which is pretty much in line with my definition of the Torah. Torah has a few definitions. This site covers them all.

I know she is dead.

So.....you've been trying to call her too? Lol

From what I've read about EG White, she was a real leader and organizer, but also a real nut.

I remember reading that she thought the worse sin a man could commit, was to pray while standing up. Jacob would be disappointed to hear that, now wouldn't he?

"The Catholic anti-semitism that caused 1,800 years of breaking the 4th commandment came first. You prove otherwise and then we'll move on to the next subject. Otherwise, you're just hackin' away."

So it is all the fault of the Catholic Church? Why stop with us? The vast majority of Christendom is not Sabbatarian. And NC Christians of all stripes have looked at Sabbaterian thought and have rejected it as unbiblical and Mrs. White as a false prophet solely based on their own study of the scripture. I am a Catholic hack not interested in the truth. Got it. But what about non-Catholics who are not Sabbaterian? What kind of hacks are they?

Yes she was truly a woman afflicted with the vapors! But in all fairness I have to offer this to the group. I just went to the official SDA site and boy was I surprised! What a new image! I used the search engine to type in Babylon, anti-Christ, and every fiery word I could think of that is commonly used against Catholics. I came up dry! I think we are seeing a kinder more gentle SDA. Thanks be to God.

It's Calvinism. More than one denomination but predominantly Baptist.

Thanks, Invincibly Ignorant. I'm getting an education in NC history. BTW, how many U.S. NC denominations can be traced to Calvinism, do you think? Are Sabbatarians (Seventh Day Adventists) historically traceable to Calvin as well?

It is a belief that once you have truly placed your trust in Jesus to save you, you will never lose your salvation because you are not the one keeping it, by being good enough, Jesus is keeping it for you.

Hi, Becky - good to hear from you. (Sorry I can't keep up with the pace that this thread is going - I've been so busy at work.)

So then, do OSAS's believe that salvation is God's work alone and that a person does not participate in it (except perhaps to receive its fruit?) What happens if, in a moment of weakness, one gives in to temptation and commits a sin? Or does one ever commit a sin once one is OSAS? Thanks, again. ;)
