Now we have the greatest country in the history of the world, founded by protestants and agnostics, being overtaken by catholics and muslims and a few others.
The country I knew is dead. Gone forever. We must make the best of it and go from here.
It will be nice if the day ever comes when we can safely and happily have large families again. In order to have large families in this country you need a husband who is capable of earning way-above average wages.
And what would the church have done about Andrea Yates? She might have done better to use birth control. Who knows?
My vast experience with large homeschooling families proves this to be completely untrue. Our friends just had their twelfth, he is a self employed carpenter working out of his basement. They do not earn way above average, they are typical of the very large families I know, and they simply make different choices on what to spend their money on. It can be done, but it takes sacrifice and courage and faith.
