Ms. Duddy just happens to share the same moral opinions as those of the liberal media. They are all trying to fashion a Church to their own liking. Problem is that their "fashioning" has led many into sin and has caused untold suffering upon it's victims. Our Lord told a story about those who scandalize the young and the millstone placed around their necks.

Ha! Great answer and questions to Zwilling.

You know, Msgr Clark's comments were right in line with what St. John Vianney, or St. Alphonsus Liguori, or St. Francis de Sales, or St. John of the Cross would be saying.

God bless Msgr Clark! Actually, he already is blessed.

I'm sorry to say if this keeps up, NYC is in even greater danger than it already is.

I called earlier, too. She sounded typical.

It would seem someone doesn't want it in general circulation.

Certainly not if any person who reads it can easily see how the liberal media has twisted his words. Maybe someone can get a copy from St. Patrick's or the Archdiocese? Anyone work or know anyone who works in the press?

I was in another room but I heard someone on Fox News state that it was a homosexual problem and not pedophilia. Someone, somewhere is getting the message out.

On a related subject, today they had an article in our local paper about our local priest, he was called back to his diocese because of allegations from 25 yrs ago. We've known for 2 wks now but now the rest of the town does and it is going to be hard to deal with people concerning this. I'm very active in my parish and I'm kind of high-profile in our town so a lot of people are going to be asking me about this.

The woman at the desk at St. Patrick's said they didn't have a copy. I'll see if one of the priests I know can get a copy from the Chancery Office.

But let's get back to root cause. Let's get back to a culture that purveys evil, that taunts and tempts. On Sunday, Monsignor Eugene Clark of St. Patrick's Cathedral in New York called the U.S. "probably the most immoral country certainly in the Western Hemisphere" and blamed American society for being "protective" of homosexuality. Cardinal Dario Castrillon Hoyos of the Vatican portrayed the scandals as the product of an American "culture of pansexuality and sexual licentiousness" and noted sourly that most of press questions have been in English. "This by itself is an X-ray of the problem," he said.

Thanks for posting VATICAN MUST STOP SCANDAL BEFORE IT CAUSES HARM TO ONE MORE YOUNGSTER AND UNFAIRLY TAINTS LEGACY OF POPE.

The correct form of address to a Monsignor is: The Right Rev. or Very Rev. Monsignor (Name); Right or Very Reverend and dear Monsignor; I am, Yours respectfully, (Name).

Thanks. I may have to search used bookstores for a reliable copy of the Catholic Almanac. Can you estimate which year may be the dividing line between reliable and useless editions?

Really, your guess is as good as mine (my edition is 1969 -- post-Humanae Vitae and Vatican II). My rule for used book buying, learned through bitter experience, is that when you see a book you like, buy it, since it may be long years before you see it again.

Thanks ELS for the ping! Let's all pray that Mons. Eugene hold his ground. Remember, Christ Himself was a sign of controversy among His people. God bless.

(ELS, please check your messages. I just sent you one.)

Peace and all good.
