No I do not believe that. You brought up a Bible verse that mentioned Palestine. I looked it up read over the Chapters of Joel that mentions Palestine. The observation I made was it basically gives the land to the Jews.

Now you try to twist my meaning. If you are going to try to use that verse to try to make your case for a Palestinian state..I think is a self defeating argument.

Even if some English Bible translations contained the term, we would have to go back to the Greek or Hebrew behind the English to see what term was used there.

If the Greek of the NT, the term would be merely a shortening of the Latin term "Syria Palestensis," which was the legal term for Syria's southern, coastal appendage from a couple of decades after 62 BC until the term Judaea replaced it with the coming of the dynasty of Herod.

If it appeared in the Hebrew of the OT, which it does, it is a transliteration of the Hebrew "Pleshet" (name of a coastal area, a region) or of the Hebrew "Pleshtim" (name of a people, the Europoid coastal invaders called Philistines in the English bibles), with the term "Pleshti" as adjective and individual-noun forms. All these refer to the Europoid invaders of 1290-1150 BC, who were decimated by Saul and David in the 1040-970 BC era, and completely exterminated by Solomon by 940 BC.

The mixed mongrel people Arafat represents and rules are ARABS, not Pleshtim, thus Semite/Hamite mixed, not Japhetic as the Pleshtim were...

and it is highly ironic that when his group of mixties that had come in to labor for the Jews decided to take a name, they took the name of an ancient people the Jews had exterminated. No one who lived between 940 BC and 1960 AD claimed to be a Pleshti, one of the Pleshtim, or a resident or citizen of a nation called Pleshet.

Nevertheless, the prophets of Israel---Zechariah, Joel 3, Isaiah 14, did foretell that in the End of Days some people would exist who would be called by that name, even though the (ancient Pleshtim) were already long extinct when those prophets wrote! The fate of that end-time people is given, and it is one they well deserve and which we are eagerly awaiting.
