He has always been a hot potatoe not only for Israel but for any moderate arab state, if there is such a thing. He's always had a core of violent radical thugs that follow him from state to state. He was on his last leg, I believe in the Arab Emirates, when our country dug him up and gave him new life by bringing him in to be a spokesman for the palestinians.
He had a name that the people recognised and since he was a thug our government thought that he could be controled by money ala Castro.As usual it backfired. You give a broke, weak thug money and recognition and all you get is a rich powerful thug. So rolled in the west bank in his pick up trucks with about 80 of his henchmen.
The first few weeks he sat up his organisation, ala Al Capone, by killing any of the local leaders i.e mayors and such that in any way questioned his orders or authority. He has since placed his people in all key positions in all the towns and villages. None of those eighty with the exception of one ,I think, is from the area of palestine. He has killed probably as many arabs as has Israel, but they did it for defense and he did it for controland power. Those millions of dollars that pour in each from The U.S. and Europe have been going in his Swiss bank accounts.
His main home is a villa , I think in Spain where his wife and children are. Believe me if he is run out you won't see him in one of the arab states. He's right where they want him. Theu use him to keep the eyes of their people on him and off what they do to their people. BTW most of the palestianian leaders that he eliminated where hung and left hanging some of them on meat hooks as a message for the others to fall in line.
This is the infastucture that Sharon is trying to destroy. Their are veryy few palestinians in his organizations except fot the few that are scared or corrupted. Don't know why I rave on this subject. I'm retired on disablity and at times it is very painful for me to even touch a key board.
But I have trouble sleeping sometimes because of the pain and medication so I have to do something. I also have had a mild form of dyslexia since birth that certain medications seem to make worse and I tend to transpose letters and numbers. I re read my posts several times but still miss some errors and at times it takes me a very long time to write these. So if it takes me while to respond, I aks you for your patience.
I just get so fustrated when our country has been so close to solving the biggest part of the problems of this area at least a half a dozen times, like they are right now and at the last minute they are duped by arab leaders and stop Israel and then spend our dollars to rebuild the smae problems again. Then the Israeli citizens die and the palestians die and on it goes.
And by the way, his real name isn't Yasser Arafat, it's Mohammed Abdel Rauf al-Qudwa al-Husseini. He dropped the name al-Husseini to obscure his connection with the Grand Mufti of Jerusalem, Hitler's old buddy.
