so tragic. We rail on and on about the world we live in, look at these poor souls and what they lived (and some didn't make it) through.

I'm reading "Catholic Martyrs of the 20th Century." We should all read it, as well as re read this thread. By any measure...materially, health, freedom....We have it better than 99.9% of all men and women who EVER lived.

What have we as a nation done with these temporal blessings? We feed the hungry...and we kill their babies. We educate the illiterate, and export pornography to then ensnare their souls. We give loans for infrastructure, but at the price of coercive population control.

God have Mercy on us.

That is an outstanding post. You are correct in your analysis. I posted this on another thread and it is very much worth the read. Cardinal Newman takes us to task, and gives an insight on how the early Christian martyrs had it. Very sobering. On martyrdom
