Where can I get a flag?
Me ^ | 10/9/01 | Don-o

Does anyone have a reliable on-line source for buying American flags?

Local retail outlets seem to be getting shipments that sell out in minutes.

I have done searches and even gotten spam e-mail for "immediate delivery!!!" But all of that has the stench of scam.

You can get one on ebay if you are willing to pay a lot for it. People are really bidding up the prices.

They're sold out everywhere.

I did find a Betsy Ross one yesterday at 800-321-3524, though. $33 for 3x5. That's what I wanted anyway, but even Gadsden flags (my personal favorite) are sold out EVERYWHERE.

Don't know if this helps, but the company I work for (www.movieposters.com) sells big U.S. Flag posters. Just look under the "Patriotic Prints" section.

All the good ones are completely sold out. I've been searching for three weeks in the Boston area. Fortunately I've always had the American flag in front of my house and I had a couple extras. Also had some small ones to fly on my car antennas.

There are a few starting to appear but they are very cheaply made. Obviously there are some local factories cranking them out. But they are flimsy and often mounted on plastic rods. Wouldn't last 10 minutes on a car antenna without falling apart.

I don't know about flags to fly in front of your home, but I do know GM dealerships have US flag stickers they are giving out to those who take test drives...another way to support our country!

Try upbeatinc.com

They don't have them in stock, but if you place an order, you should get one in four - six weeks. It's better than none at all.

Try your congressman's local office. That's where I got mine, from Congressman David Dreier's office. It is very nice quality, embroidered stars, made in the US and not too expensive.

I called and they had it the next day. I think it was $18 for a 4x6 foot nylon one. He had different sizes in both cotton and nylon.

You can also get one that has been flown over the capitol, but that would take much longer.

There was a thread earlier that had a VFW (don't recall post #) that had a store online for flags. Have been doing a search here and FR and can't find it yet. Maybe that person will see this and repost it? http://www.freerepublic.com/forum/a3ba0c6f40db9.htm found this just as I was getting ready to post. not the one I was thinking about, but should help.

Check with your local American Legion, VFW (Veterans of Foreign Wars) and/or the USO. And you know that your money is going to a good cause. All have websites. If you have any further problems and can't find one email me. Semper Fi, Mike

After having my flag ripped-off, I found one at Hallmark in a shopping mall. $20 for a decent 3x5ft flag. I am happy with it.

Would you buy a ChiCom made American Flag?

Unfortunately that may be our only choice for weeks if not months! I have found two stores with a few American Flags since 9/13 when I home from a cancelled vacation.

Both stores only had ChiCom made American flags. A couple appeared to be of good quality. Others reminded of the one that darn near burnt up the idiot who tried to burn a phoney American Flag in Islamaidiot land!

I didn't buy the ChiCom flags, since I don't buy ChiCom products!

What would you do?

I ordered mine from libertyflag.com I think the total was about $50 incl S/H for the Deluxe Flag Kit including 3 x 5 flag w/8' pole. I ordered it 10/1 and they said it was going to be shipped 10/3. I haven't gotten it yet, but it should be here tomorrow or the next day. Check them out, though.
