Shocking footage has emerged showing a gigantic 'shantytown' that has sprung up in Oakland, as the California city's slide into crime-ravaged squalor continues. Michael Oxford, the host of CaliBased, posted a video on May 31 of massive temporary houses built along service roads that open up into main roads in Hooverville, Oakland. The footage showed trash strewn around scores of houses that were built of wood, tarp and other discarded materials.

We are in uncharted waters. Donald Trump is a convicted felon. The whole thing is perverse. The American brand has been dragged through the mud, sunk to the level of a banana republic where rulers take their political enemies out to the jungle to disappear. This great nation now stands diminished in the eyes of international investors. And the economic consequences for ordinary Americans could be dire.

MSNBC host Lawrence O'Donnell couldn't contain his praise for Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg after he successfully prosecuted Donald Trump, referring to the prosecutor as 'the anointed one.' Bragg led the prosecution as the former president was found guilty on Thursday on all 34 felony counts after a very brief deliberation. He faces sentencing on July 11. O'Donnell - a former Congressional speechwriter before his transition to television - was effusive in his praise for Bragg.

Megyn Kelly and Dan Abrams ended up yelling at one another in a blistering, five-minute long argument over Donald Trump's guilty verdict in New York on Thursday. Kelly, 53, who has a long history of falling in and out with the former president, appeared as a guest on Dan Abrams Live on News Nation to react to the news of the day. After admitting the jury had no choice but to convict based on what was presented, she spent about a minute and a half trashing the judge and Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg.

The posse of aides surrounding Joe Biden appears to be growing, a month after it was reported they are now joining him on the march from the White House to the presidential helicopter. A video of the president making his way to the chopper went viral after it showed around 10 people joining him as part of his the entourage, including White House Press Secretary Karine Jean Pierre. The aides think that having themselves walk between Biden and journalists' cameras will draw less attention to Biden's halting and stiff walk, Axios reported in April.

Robert De Niro will no longer be honored at the National Association of Broadcasters award ceremony following his anti-Trump rant outside the former president's criminal trial. The Oscar-winning actor, 80, was set to be handed the group's Leadership Foundation's Service to America Award next week. But the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) has rescinded the award after De Niro hit out at Donald Trump in a press conference in support of Joe Biden outside Manhattan Criminal Court on Tuesday.

The View hosts have reacted to the criminal conviction of former president Donald Trump - which excited Joy Behar so much that she wet herself. While the ladies of The View don't usually film the show live on Fridays, they all gathered today to react to the Republican's guilty verdict in his Manhattan hush money trial. 'I was at Costco buying 10 boxes of Keurig coffee,' Joy shared with viewers.

Long before Donald Trump's hush-money trial concluded, I predicted that his conviction was a forgone conclusion – despite the obvious weakness of the case against him. Had the prosecution been brought in another part of the country, or even in another part of New York State, which was more fairly balanced with anti and pro-Trump voters, I am in little doubt that the outcome would have been different. But instead, on Thursday, Trump became the first former president to be found guilty of a crime – convicted on all 34 flimsy counts of 'falsifying business records.'

China’s top-secret spaceplane has released a mysterious object into Earth’s orbit just 372 miles above the surface. The US Space Force is monitoring the situation, but the purpose of the object ejected on May 24 is unknown. A Harvard astrophysicist first spotted the object, speculating it could be a subsatellite deployment, or a piece of hardware ejected before the spaceplane ends its mission and deorbits.

A military aircraft has crashed near Albuquerque International Sunport Airport in New Mexico, reports claim. Emergency crews were seen on the scene Tuesday afternoon, and the pilot - the only person in the plane - was reportedly conscious as they were transported away. It is unclear what airport the jet took off from, with Kirtland Air Force Base also found next to the airport.

Gov. Chris Sununu says almost all of the 50 governors get along...except 'prick' Gavin Newsom who 'no one cares for' and 'complete jacka**' former Gov. Andrew Cuomo. The New Hampshire Republican governor poked fun at his Democratic colleagues during a fireside chat at the Reagan Institute Summit on Education in Washington, D.C. 'Look, almost all the governors get along,' he said. 'In my eight years, there's really only maybe been two - maybe a third - but two governors that really nobody likes or particularly cares for.'

White House spokesperson Karine Jean-Pierre brazenly fought back after being asked why Joe Biden hasn't used his executive powers to deal with the border crisis. The press secretary, 49, admitted on Wednesday that Biden does have the power to curtail the ever-growing migrant ordeal - but she snapped back: 'Why should he?' President Biden took 94 executive actions to reverse Donald Trump's border policies after taking office - but has refused to issue any as migrant numbers have surged.

Voters in Biden's hometown of Scranton, Pennsylvania, told DailyMail.com they are not backing hometown hero Joe in 2024. President Joe Biden likes to invoke his humble beginnings in the foothills of Pennsylvania when addressing the country and potential voters. He even made a highly-publicized trip to the town last month to gather support. But voters here don't see eye-to-eye with the 81-year-old commander-in-chief, telling DailyMail.com that life was better for them under former President Donald Trump.

Sitting in a ‘freezing’ courtroom hasn’t kept Donald Trump from securing some red hot fundraising numbers. In fact, stunning new campaign finance data reveals the criminal defendant has been out-raising President Joe Biden even while cooling his heels inside a Manhattan courtroom. Trump and the Republican Party brought in $76 million in April. That’s about 50 per cent more than the $51 million Biden and the Democratic National Committee brought in last month.

Prosecutor's 'star witness' Michael Cohen is back on the stand for third day, as the court waits with bated breath to find out whether former President Donald Trump could testify himself. Last week, Trump's defense lawyer caught Cohen in a liet about a crucial phone call that tied the former president to a cover-up around hush money payments to porn star Stormy Daniels in a dramatic 'aha' moment .

Red Lobster has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection days after shuttering nearly 100 restaurants across America. The seafood chain, which has closed restaurants in 27 states, has been struggling with rising lease and labor costs in recent years and also promotions like its iconic all-you-can-eat shrimp deal that backfired. Demand for one such recent promotion overwhelmed restaurants, reportedly contributing to hundreds of millions in losses.

An under-the-radar change at the Federal Election Commission (FEC) could allow 'unlimited' foreign money to flow into elections, election experts have warned. The FEC issued an advisory opinion earlier this month that allows federal candidates for office to solicit unlimited funds from anywhere for groups working for state ballot initiatives. That means if President Joe Biden is raising money for a state referendum on abortion, there are no limits to the donations he can request. If Donald Trump is raising money for a group to oppose such a referendum, the same would go for his campaign.

President Joe Biden sharpened his racially-charged attack on former President Donald Trump during Sunday night's annual NAACP Detroit Branch Freedom Fund dinner. 'What do you think he would have done on January 6 if black Americans had stormed the Capitol?' Biden asked - as members of the crowd collectively gasped. The president then added, 'No, I'm serious. What do you think? I can only imagine,' as Trump has long promised to pardon those involved in the 2021 Capitol attack if he's elected to a second term in November.

President Joe Biden's motorcade drove through deep blue Atlanta this weekend to little fanfare, leading many to wonder about the enthusiasm for his 2024 campaign. In 2020, the president became the first Democrat to win a presidential election in Georgia in 30 years. The party also won both senate seats in the Southern state. But the state's landscape has shifted significantly over the last four years, with recent polls suggesting former president Donald Trump is in the lead in the Peach State.

Video shows what is thought to be two of the men groveling for mercy on the ground as they were surrounded by government forces following a shootout in the capital Kinshasa on Sunday. Reports in local media suggested the arrested men were CIA operatives although the US ambassador in the city was keen to distance the US from any involvement.
