  • (CT) WFSB-3 Exclusive Report of Bridgeport Poll Issues

    WFSB Channel 3 ^ | 04 November 10 | Dennis House
This video from WFSB 3 showing a disagreement between a poll watcher and a poll worker. The worker can be seen mixing official and unofficial ballots. The watcher advises them repeatedly that they cannot do that. (Of course) the police officer comes over and escorts the poll watcher away. In the interview, Vernon Mayor Jason McCoy tells viewers that he went to the Bridgeport polls to observe after receiving information of potential issues there. Not the least of which was a bunch of ballots that were mailed to a vacant lot in the city. ID's were not checked. Ballots were...
  • (CT) Hartford and Bridgeport Polls Run Out Of Ballots

    WFSB 3 News | 02 November, 2010 | LoneGOPinCT
Title was the report. Polling places in Hartford and Bridgeport have reported that they ran out of ballots. How does a polling place run out of ballots? Is there not a list with the number of registered voters in the district and wouldn't they have that number on hand? The Secretary of State has instructed them to print more ballots. Just seems odd and worthy of attention. Or am I being too cynical?

Please forgive me for essentially plagiarizing an existing title (no I don't work for the NYT), but it's very important to me and what better way to get the attention. Please keep little Connor in your thoughts and prayers. He is the son of a very good friend of mine since college. Due to a medical condition in his mother, he was delivered at 27 weeks. When born he weighed in a 2lbs. 3oz. and is now hovering around 1lb. 14 oz. His lung development so far has exceeded expectations and he did cry upon "removal" but, needless to say,...

Republicans Seem To Be Stinging The Blues January 7, 2005 By DAVID LIGHTMAN, Washington Bureau Chief WASHINGTON -- As President Bush and the Republican Party plot policy strategy for 2005, Northeast lawmakers are shuddering. They see increasingly strong evidence that the GOP isn't too troubled by the concerns of this blue corner of the country. They know Bush not only lost Connecticut and the Northeast in November, but virtually ignored them during the campaign. And voters in the six New England states and all the states that border them have been shifting away from the Republican mainstream for more than...

New Twist In License Scheme Workers At DMV Accused Of Stealing Drivers' Identities December 30, 2004 By DAVE ALTIMARI, Courant Staff Writer The expanding investigation into a scheme to sell bogus Connecticut driver's licenses took a troubling twist Wednesday with charges that Department of Motor Vehicle workers helped steal the identities of legitimate license holders, including a Farmington school official. Until now, law enforcement officials had characterized the scheme as a way for illegal immigrants to obtain bogus identification - with potential national security implications. DMV employees had previously been charged with issuing the licenses in the names of the...

'Festivus' Shares Space With Fla. Nativity December 22, 2004 11:59 PM EST BARTOW, Fla. - When a church group put a nativity scene on public property, officials warned it might open the door to other religious - and not-so-religious - displays. They were right. Since the nativity was erected in Polk County, displays have gone up honoring Zoroastrianism and the fake holiday Festivus, featured on the TV show "Seinfeld." The Polk County Commission voted 4-1 Wednesday to permit the nativity scene to remain across the street from the courthouse, as well as to make that area a "public forum" open...

State Will Not Rule In Xavier Dispute December 18, 2004 By PENELOPE OVERTON, Courant Staff Writer MIDDLETOWN -- The teachers who want to form a union at Xavier High School, a Catholic boys' high school, have filed a petition with the Connecticut State Board of Labor Relations seeking recognition over the protest of the school's board of directors. But Department of Labor spokeswoman Nancy Steffens said the labor board would not intervene in the Xavier dispute because state law specifically exempts religious groups from collective bargaining. Last week, when the Xavier Teachers' Association went public with its union efforts, state...

My father and uncle recently inherited some land in Seadrift, TX and will be flying down in the near future to check it out. None of it is waterfront property but one parcel does offer direct water views the others are on or near paved access roads. What are your thoughts on Seadrift? Should they consider subdividing to sell, hang onto for oil/mineral rights or is it a good area to hang onto the land? Depending on the area, my father was considering building a retirement home for escaping the New England winters so he could boat all year round....

First off, I would like to thank you all for your thoughts and prayers for my MIL that you offered over the past couple of years in her battle against breast cancer. I am sad to say that she succumbed to the disease this past Wednesday and was laid to rest on Saturday. On Tuesday morning, the Dr. checked her and her vitals were good to excellent. He said that while her long-term prognosis was not very good, she would have 4 to 5 more quality years to watch her son get married and her grandchildren grow up. She was...

First, I apologize for my relative absence. My work schedule has been crazy, and as some of you know, my youngest son (now 11 mo.) was born with Down Syndrome so a lot of free time is devoted to OT, PT, and educating myself about DS (he's doing very well BTW). Second, I again wanted to thank all of you who offered prayers for my MIL when her breast cancer was first diagnosed nearly two years ago. She has been through two rounds of radiation and a couple different chemos. The treatments seem to have worked in her breast region...

FOLKS, Come on out! Stop hibernating! We need your help. Just read about the IMMUNITY BILL. We really need to take action on this. Why should we let gun manufacturers get immunity from victims of gun violence when virtually no other industry (cars, food, toys, clothing, everything you touch) doesn't???? Click on the link http://capwiz.com/brady/dbq/officials type in your zip code and send a message to OPPOSE H.R.2037/S.2268 (the capwiz link will give you a cue for this Immunity Bill). • Anyone Know of a Source for "Pro-War" Lawn Signs?

The local media has made a lot about the "No War On Iraq" lawn signs that have popped up in neighborhoods throughout CT (and across the country I'm sure). I've seen many in my neighborhood and throughout my travels. I'm trying to find a source for lawn signs that are of a Pro-Iraq policy nature. Not necessarily Pro-War, but at least in support of our troops and Bush to counter those opposed to our efforts. Thanks.
