Foe evolutionary scientists there is no such thing as "Darwinism." Instead we have a scientific theory that, in combination with Mendel's work, provides the modern or neo-Darwinin synthesis, which explains the development of life on Earth.

I recently downloaded one of those Microsoft security updates that pop up from time to time. I use the Windows XP system. It seems that since that time, every time I logged onto Internet Explorer, it crashed. The error message confirmed the existence of an Interstitial Ad Delivery by N-case. I have just uninstalled it. Today, it crashed again and the error message imvolved Top Text which I also uninstalled. Did anyone else have this experience? Why would downloading a Microsoft security update allow for these ads to show up which cripple Internet Explorer? It seems that everything is generally...

MOSCOW, Sept. 16 — One of Russia's best-known ballerinas and post-Communist celebrities was fired today by the Bolshoi Theater after a war of insults over whether she was fit for a pas de deux. Theater officials are charging the ballerina, Anastasia Volochkova, with one of ballet's deadly sins: they say she has become too fat. "She is heavy for a ballerina; she is hard to lift," Katerina Novikova, the theater's spokeswoman, said in an interview on Monday. Ms. Volochkova, 27, spoke of mysterious forces working against her — she wouldn't identify them — and also said theater administrators, working on...

Has anyone in the Miami area heard about the incident at Miami Airport whereby the USDA is planning to shoot and kill hundreds of jackrabbits on Monday? If so, I would appreciate any news you may have. The situation has been in constant flux, but as of right now, things are as follows: The animals which number in the hundreds, have been living on the grounds of the airport for over twenty years. During this time, there has never been one case of a risk to humans or a flight security problem. The airport is concerned about a future problem...

The following is a response I received from Eric Alterman of MSNBC.com regarding a thread that got pulled recently which bashed the president. Maybe some of you will want to respond to Mr. Alterman. I asked: Why not ask me or all my friends and family and all the members of Free Republic.com for our opinions? His reply: because my guess is you're all idiots, but thanks

I was wondering if the daughters of any Freepers have been approached by Army recruiters both on and off college campuses to enlist. My daughter has been asked on several occasions both at Fordham and by recruiters on the street if she's interested in ROTC or in enlistment at the present time. Since she is a workout-aholic, I was wondering if that might affect her being canvassed. Is it the policy of the military to actively recruit women? I'm curious to hear any of your experiences.

Can anyone out there in cyberland help me figure out how to receive e-mail messages in HTML format? I use Outlook Express and all my e-mails arrive in text format without photos. I called Dell and they are totally useless. They told me to check www.actden.com which offers some basic help with outgoing mail, but mentions nothing about incoming mail. I thought Dell was supposed to offer all this tech support.

BROOKVILLE, New York (AP) -- When a severed human hand arrived in his mailbox, Bob Brier wasn't horrified or shocked. He thought it might be something cool to bring to work.

Brier is a professor of Egyptology and a renowned mummy expert, and the hand was a gift from a woman whose father had purchased it in 1926 in Egypt from locals touting it as an ancient mummified hand.

NEW YORK (AP) -- Manager Bobby Valentine was fired by the New York Mets on Tuesday, two days after they finished last in the National League East and two seasons after the team reached the World Series.

The team put together a $95 million payroll last winter, bringing in Roberto Alomar, Mo Vaughn, Roger Cedeno and others, but it struggled all year and was embarrassed by accusations last month that at least seven players were smoking marijuana this season.

Can anyone out there recommend Optimum Online over Verizon or any of the other cable internet services? I have been convinced not to consider DSL or phone hookups. Any advice would be appreciated.

There used to be a way to access archived posts. Is this still possible? The responses listed under "Comments" don't seem to go back beyond that page.
