I don't know. Perhaps. No one will be suing the National Enquirer. They will threaten to sue, but they won't. The Legal Discovery process itself would be prove to be a nightmare of embarrassment for several of the people involved because I believe it is true.
Perhaps in this next piece, the National Enquirer can make a factual claim about Cruz's affairs. They haven't yet.
Drew “confirmed” that two of the women were “accurate.”
When he confirmed that, he didn’t have independent proof of an affair. He’s not an investigative reporter, btw. He was confirming that two of the women who were pictured (but not named) in the National Enquirer piece were two women who were rumored to have had affairs with Ted Cruz.
Because of his (intentionally?) sloppy wording, he put his employer in a bad place of being linked to an unsupported National Enquirer piece and they had to let him go. Twitter and the blogosphere exploded with “Washington Times reporter confirms...”
In a subsequent tweet, when pressed for details, Drew coyly declined to give any details saying another source had the story and they had their information.
I guess I could get on board with the Election CFO concept if it werent for the troubling implication of a supposed arms length service provider comingling resources and funds for both campaigns and PACs so it seems.
This "breaking revelation" has been posted 20 times in the past few days. No one ever pays attention to the fact that the company has dozens of clients who all use the same mailbox. There's no gotcha here. It's a company which does the FEC compliance back end of campaign donations.
I’ve not been around FR for a while.
After having been back a bit for a few days, I’m guessing negative selection is occurring. If you’re a Cruz voter, why would you hang out here with so much ridiculous nonsense that gets posted?
You want to take a shot at Cruz’s record? Take one.
But well over half the criticisms of him are simply emotional or ad hominem.
And I’m sure it’s the same going the other way. This is a nonsensical primary. It’s not based in policy or positions. And it’s certainly not based in truth.
But instead of making a blanket declaration that he has been faithful during the entirety of his 14-year marriage a move that would effectively end the vicious news cycle
