The report by the Harvard CAPS-Harris Poll found older voters supported Israel more than younger voters, with 90% of voters over the age of 54 claiming they support Israel over Hamas, compared to 57% of respondents aged 18-24.. Many Americans support Israel over the terrorist organization Hamas in a poll released on Monday, with 80% of respondents saying they support Israel more in the conflict. The poll comes as anti-Israel groups hunker down at dozens of colleges and universities nationwide. The groups have been protesting over the war, with students calling for their schools to cut financial ties with Israel,...

HARRISBURG — Location, reputation, demographics, and pure luck may have mattered more than policy differences in Pennsylvania’s row office primary elections this week. Tuesday saw a major upset in the Democratic race for state treasurer and a decisive win in a crowded Democratic attorney general field by a candidate who brought statewide name recognition — but not much cash — to the race. With the fields settled for November’s marquee presidential and U.S. Senate races, turnout for the Democratic and Republican primaries was low, according to election administrators. The voters who did show up often said they felt unprepared and...

Sen. John Fetterman (D-Pa.) ripped into the pro-Palestinian protests roiling college campuses, calling the encampment demonstrations “pup tents” for the militant group Hamas. “Now, of course, it’s a great American value to protest, but I don’t believe living in a pup tent for Hamas is really helpful,” Fetterman said in an interview on NewsNation’s “The Hill Sunday.” Protests calling for a cease-fire in the Israel-Hamas war in Gaza and a halt in U.S. military aid to Israel have persisted for more than a week at a swath of college campuses across the country. Some protesters — including those at Columbia...

US regulators have seized Republic First Bancorp and agreed to sell it to Fulton Bank, the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. said Friday, underscoring the challenges facing regional banks a year after the collapse of three peers. The Philadelphia-based bank, which had abandoned funding talks with a group of investors, was seized by the Pennsylvania Department of Banking and Securities. The FDIC, appointed as a receiver, said Fulton Bank, a unit of Fulton Financial, will assume substantially all deposits and purchase all the assets of Republic Bank to “protect depositors.” Republic Bank had about $6 billion in total assets and $4...

Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s (D-CA) daughter criticized Democrat judges for giving out harsh sentences to January 6 defendants. Alexandra Pelosi was caught slamming the “liberal” judges who are “out for blood” as they hand out lengthy prison sentences while other J6 protestors get hit with just a fine or probation. “I think I learned in kindergarten that justice is supposed to be fair. A judge is supposed to be the same, and they’re not supposed to be political,” Alexandra said. “And now it’s like one judge you get really makes a difference because some judges are giving probation and...

CNN contributor David Axelrod said Wednesday on “Inside Politics” that the Pennsylvania Republican primary results show “resistance” from some Republican voters to former President Donald Trump. Host Dana Bash said, “Let’s talk about some of the elections that are still going on, the primary elections and what that might tell us about November. Pennsylvania, the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, those famous counties around the suburbs, around Philadelphia, I want you to look at some of the results this is on the Republican side, Delaware county, Donald Trump got 76%, Nikki Haley, 24%, Bucks County Trump 81%, at Nikki Haley, 19%, Montgomery...

Donald Trump won the Pennsylvania Republican primary with 82.8% of the vote. The Keystone State's primary is closed, meaning only Republicans can vote. But is this cause for worry? Trump won Pennsylvania in 2016 by 44,000 votes. Biden won the state in 2020 by 80,000. However, former candidate Nikki Haley, who dropped out a month ago, received 16.5% of the vote in this year's primary, or about 156,000 votes. That's a healthy slice of the electorate in a state so evenly divided. We can assume that a significant portion of Haley's votes are going to be "hold your nose and...

ALTOONA, Pennsylvania — The oldest gas station in America still in operation, Reighard’s here in this Blair County city, got its start in 1908 when a local blacksmith decided to sell gasoline out the back of his shop when the Model T was introduced. It has been open ever since. While architecturally it is underwhelming, the service is good because the people who work there care about the work they do, whether it is pumping gas, washing your windshield, or doing minor fixes on your car. It is important to them that you return. While Reighard’s holds the title of...

Sen. Bob Casey (D-Pa.) is potentially staring down his closest race yet, against Republican David McCormick, in what will be one of the pivotal Senate contests in November. In Tuesday’s primary, McCormick is set to officially become the GOP nominee for the critical seat, setting up a battle with Casey, who is running for his fourth Senate term. The former hedge fund CEO is the candidate the Republican Party wanted to oppose Casey, after nominating disappointing general election candidates two years ago. “It’s an uphill climb, but if anybody can do it, [Republicans] have nominated the right person for it,...

Philadelphia Democratic state Rep. Kevin Boyle is no longer facing imminent arrest by Philadelphia Police Department after new information has come forward to indicate the protection from abuse order that was the basis of an arrest warrant was no longer in effect. At a late Monday afternoon news conference, Philadelphia District Attorney Larry Krasner said new information learned on Monday filled in a gap and made it clear the that there was no probable cause to justify a warrant for the seven-term incumbent’s arrest. “Mr. Boyle committed no crime,” Krasner said. “That is a matter to be determined later.” He...

Sen. John Fetterman (D-Pa.) called on the president of Columbia University to do her “job or resign” amid ongoing unrest and heightened concern for Jewish students’ safety on campus. In a post on social platform X, Fetterman compared aspects of the anti-Israel protests to the infamous Charlottesville rally in 2017, when white supremacists chanted “Jews will not replace us” near the campus of the University of Virginia. “I fully agree with the White House — these ‘protests’ are antisemitic, unconscionable, and dangerous. Add some tiki torches and it’s Charlottesville for these Jewish students,” Fetterman wrote in a statement Sunday night....

Pennsylvania is becoming “increasingly red,” Republican Senate candidate David McCormick said during an appearance on Breitbart News Daily a day ahead of the primary. McCormick, who made it clear he is not a “status quo” guy, discussed the state of politics in Pennsylvania and put the situation into perspective. “Pennsylvania is becoming increasingly red. So in 2016, when Trump won, there was one million more registered Democrats than Republicans. In 2024,” he said, the Democrat advantage will have decreased to “probably 300,000 more Democrats than Republicans registered.” “And by 2028, we’ll be red,” he predicted. “So we’re moving in the...

Sen. John Fetterman reiterated his criticisms of activists calling for cease-fire in Gaza, and slammed fellow Democrats for their “crazy” response to the attacks Iran has launched against Israel, in an interview with Fox Digital. “It is not appropriate or legal or helpful to advance your argument if you show up in a Starbucks with a bullhorn and start yelling at people,” he told Fox News Digital in a Friday interview. He also claimed such protests don’t “make you noble.” “It just makes you an (–*&*(,” Fetterman (D-Pa.) said. Since the onset of the war between Israel and terrorist group...
