Emmett Till protesters stormed a senior living facility in search of the woman who has been accused of setting a lynch mob on him after a 1955 arrest warrant was unearthed in a Mississippi courthouse.
Carolyn Bryant Donham, now in her 80s, of Raleigh, North Carolina, reportedly accused Till of whistling at her in a grocery store in Money, Mississippi, in 1955.
A week later, the 14-year-old Till was abducted, tortured, fatally shot and dumped into the Tallahatchie River, where his body was found swollen and mutilated three days later. His open casket shocked the nation.
Donham's husband, Roy Bryant, and half-brother, JW Milam, were arrested for his lynching, but later acquitted. The pair eventually admitted guilt, but couldn't be prosecuted due to double-jeopardy laws.
Last week, the unserved arrest warrant for Donham was found in the basement of a Mississippi courthouse, causing Till's family and activists to once again call for justice.

I don’t know everything about this woman’s involvement, but reading the article, she accused Till of whistling and grabbing her.
It was her male relatives who then killed Till.
There’s also a claim, which she denied, that she had admitted to making up the story.
Terrible set of events but her alleged involvement doesn’t clearly merit doing anything to her.
Article doesn’t explain what a 1955 arrest warrant was for, or what it has to do with anything.
What? For allegedly whistling at a white girl? When he was 14?
What wiil they do, drag an old woman outside and lynch her from the highest tree?
Don’t these idiots realize every action like this just feeds into the white supremacists claims?
Carolyn Bryant didn’t tell her husband Till had made a pass at her. She and her sister in law decided that would lead to trouble and initially kept silent.
Apparently some black acquaintance came to the house and told Bryant what Till had done. I guess he figured that Mrs. Bryant had already done so, and hoped to defuse the situation, maybe to get Till off with a beating instead of having angry Bryant brothers coming after everyone.
so it would appear that a black person saw it? and so that means the woman in question did not lie about it.

Are you sure that’s what happened? Have you read the trial transcripts like I have? I don’t excuse his murder. Those men should have been brought to justice in the 1950s. I do find it rather ironic that today we have a gang of racists want to lynch an old lady because 60-some years ago a couple of racists lynched a young man. Really doesn’t look like we’ve progressed much as a society, now does it. So maybe I’ll say f*ck Emmett Till, f*ck this old lady and f*ck the black panthers. They’re all trash if you ask me.

This happened 67 years ago, i imagine most associated with this are dead, in their mid to late 90’s and probably senile. Grabbing a woman almost 90 is going to accomplish exactly what, what is their plan for her . An old 67 year old warrant means nothing and frankly want to see it , does it even exist?
So, to avenge one lynching, they’re trying to do another one?
There were a number of young black people in the store. Till was showing off for his cousins. He allegedly grabbed her around the waist and said something like, “Don’t be scared, baby, I’ve been with white girls before.”
Carolyn was scared enough to run for the pistol in her car; the black kids were scared enough by the transgression to grab their cousin and run. I think the whistle was when he was leaving, more bravado, but not the initial offense.
Till was taller and heavier than Carolyn Bryant. There probably wasn’t even a phone in the store, way out in the boonies.
Carolyn and her sister in law decided not to tell their husbands and set them off, in the account I read.
When they went after actual war criminals I had no issues with them but the last I heard they arrested some 96 year old lady who was a secretary at a Concentration Camp which I don’t support at all.

In my mother-in-law’s care facility we have to be let in, undergo temperature check, answer questions, wear a mask, and be escorted to the nursing center.

All this woman is guilty of is telling her husband that she was sexually harassed at work by the teen. Her husband and his accomplice were the ones that were guilty of Till's killing. The old lady didn't break any laws.
