Lira was basically killed out of malice and spite.

Germs don't have malice or spite. But sometimes people get sick and die. Like Mr. Lira.

Trying to make him a martyr is foolish, but something Russians would do.

What about the anti-war protestors in Russian jails?

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It’s a terrible thing for them.
The difference here is Lira was a US Citizen. Our so-called leaders left him to rot.
I have a BIG problem with all the protestors against war in jail around the world. To try to parse this into a pro-Z and anti-P game of dualism is cheap and dull-witted.
Your implication is as well.
I had pneumonia a few years ago and spent 4 days in the hospital.
If I hadn’t been given antibiotics and oxygen, I would have died...just like Gonzalo.
He died from neglect.
I’m amazed daily by the utter stupidity and callousness of zeepers.
