We'll leave the roof on for ya!....................

Motel 6 around here was one day rapidly demolished with no explanation. Story that emerged was a druggie was running a lab in one of the rooms and heavily contaminated the place with fentanyl. The site has a huge fence around it now and looks like some sort of Superfund cleanup site.

Yes, the roof was ripped off.
But I did notice none of the windows of the motel were broken.

We drove around Camp Lejeune and Cherry Point after Bertha and Fran rolled through. Carnage. Like the Twilight Zone.

I lived in Newport, NC, during the mid 70’s. Only had one weather scare. Don’t remember the name or date. Husband called in for duty. He did bring me tape to keep the breaking glass into the house. I was very scared, this being my one and only hurricane. Next morning the wind was severe but the sun was shining.

70’s was fairly quiet for hurricanes.......There were some, but not many. The Sun must have been in a low sunspot cycle of 11 years duration.......................
