This is an amazing piece of writing. Truly this is one of the best written posts I've read in almost 22 years in Free Republic.

It's a great piece of writing but it is 20 years too late.

Frankly, the author's sentiments would have been applicable at any point in time from the Vietnam War forward. These sentiments should be the content of public service announcements calling on Americans to stay the hell away from the military, period.

This is not a nation anymore. It's a fading empire, and one of the key characteristics of it is that we have corrupt, inept, draft-dodging @ssholes sending other people to fight stupid endless wars in Third World sh!t-holes.
